SamN
Hi guys, Fitted my decats last night to my exhaust blowing through one of the flexi's just behind it. The car has been fitted with a Jasma exhaust by the previous owner so I'm not sure if they're standard or not! Is there a quick temporary fix? Pros/cons of welding a straight pipe in place of the flexi so it won't happen again?
SamN
Excuse the poor quality pictures, but they may help nonetheless.
Vlad
Get new flexi bits...cut old ones off, weld new ones on:)
Flex
Thought I was for the chop there!
KyleR
Jasma = Japanese Automotive Sports Muffler Association (or something very similar) It's not a make. There should be a code on the Jasma Stamp, post it up and we should be able to determine what make it is.

SamN
May be a stupid suggestion, but could I replace the flexi with straight pipe to stop it from snagging again? What negative affects would this give me? Would it affect the sound?
mattross1313
Not sure on sound, but it helps take some of the strain/flex from the exhaust system. If its is a little out of line when bolting up flanges etc it could be stress further up the system. Which is why I opted for the Cobra Y-Pipe as opposed to the Stillen (I think) as it had no flexis. Sam Mcgoo
I would advise replacing the flexis. They are only about a tenner each and any competent welder can do it for you. They are there for a reason, so I wouldn't risk replacing with hard pipe as it will just transfer the vibrations and stress to the next weakest point. I would rather periodically replace the flexis than change a cracked or loose manifold.
