Coose01
Hi, I've been researching this for a few weeks now with no success and was hoping someone can help.. My fuel gauge doesn't work at all, it always shows it's empty no matter how much fuel I put in and also the petrol light doesn't work. I brought the car a month ago 2003 350z (import) knowing the gauge didn't work and was told it was the sender units. I've since replaced the both units and still no joy. I dropped it of at my local garage today so an electrics specialist could check it out. He came to the conclusion the problem is with gauge. He didn't seem to sure. My question is, if the problem is with the gauges how come it's only affecting the petrol gauge? Would not effect the other gauges? I'm just after a bit of reassurance before I fork out for a new set of gauges as I've already brought sender units when I didn't need them. If this is the case does anyone know of anywhere I can pick a set of gauges up from? The only place I can find online is America. Mopedmark
Does the DTE work on the gauge ?
Coose01
The DTE does seem to be working ok.
Mopedmark
That's good then,so I would think that the sender is working otherwise it wouldn't be able to calculate the fuel. Have you checked connections into the clocks
Coose01
I've been googling how to remove the clocks, seen a video on you tube. All seems straight forward so I'm going to have a look tomorrow. I'm not to sure what I'm looking for? Hoping it's blindingly obvious! The G Man
Can't help buddy, but if you put the problem in the 350 section you might get a better response
Mopedmark
Well there is only one connection so I would be careful when you come to this, just see if it is pressed all the way home, either way take it apart have a look at both ends and see if its clean or dirty etc give it a blow so to speak make sure there no dust etc, generally see if anything is a miss
