Leather or cloth?

If leather, use a magic sponge and leather cleaner - will nicely remove all the gunk. Most will do but I use Zaino or Britemax.

There's mixed views as whether you should use a leather 'feed' product on modern leather - but I'm sure some of the leather experts will be along soon.

If cloth, use a foam cleaner - like Autosmart Brisk Foam - and rub in with a mf cloth. Then seal with a fabric protector a la Gtechniq or Scotchguard

My brother had a VW jetta and the rear bench was literally almost black with dirt, he just used the cheapest tesco foam upholstery cleaner and a damp sponge with a bit if water in a bucket to swill the sponge and after a day doing it they came up almost new
