hensh65
Hey, I just wondered if there was any tricks to washing vinyl wrap? Its my roof that has been done so it is a fairly big area that doesn't always look perfect. Also, any suggestions for doing a quick dry clean at a car show? ie what product would be best to use ? cheers
Neilp
I use a quick detailer on mine as waxes can damage it as far as I'm aware.
Jay
Quick detailer like neil said for a quick shine. But I have had my roof wrapped for 2years now and give it a liquid wax.......brings it up really well.
coldel
Dont use any cream polishes or waxes as it will leave a white sheen on your wrap. I actually found black boot polish over carbon black wrap made it look great although all to their own!
Jay
I have a wrap of my 350z and 370z and never had any streaks by using waxes

Tackleberry
Is this true of matte vinyl too?
Jay
Do not wax or polish a matt wrapped car unless you have the proper materials specifically for matt cars. I had swissvax and it worked a treat as it brought the colour back on my wrap. It wasn't cheap tho.
AliveBoy
I saw a demo of this at the weekend and I was highly impressed. All of the products are made from natural ingredients and they work better than some more expensive products using a lot less sprays too! It's specifically designed to protect from UV and streaking etc http://www.usgarage....etailer/5794616 Edited October 2, 2013 by Dedman
HaydnH
I'm suprised nobody has suggested PMing SMD to advise on cleaning vinyl/PVC etc...
downhuman
Go for products made from vinyl wrap, such as http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/scholl-concepts-no-gloss-spray-wax-sealer-for-matt-paints.php?osCsid=bh4gdh9bnic853780mljrn0bm3
BillyZed
Glass cleaner is the best thing I've found
ilogikal1
There's a selection of Nanolex products aimed at matte vinyl too; http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/nanolex-matte-paint-and-alloy-sealant-cat12.html#aMasterNMPA0000
cs2000
I never found the need to use anything special on my gloss roof wrap. I just wash it with regular shampoo, wax it with whatever wax im using and then use QD as a finish. As long as the wax is decent (not something like turtlewax) you wouldn't have issues leaving white marks on plastic (or vinyl for the matter)
