Z-monster
Evening guys and gals, I was given the pleasure of a tour round the Aston Martin factory the other week and I got a chance to look at their Le Mans and GT4 cars. Really beautiful, sound the business too. One particular thing caught my eye were the temperature indicator strips on the calipers. Fascinating stuff. At Wilton I asked a customer team how they kept an eye on temperature and they just used a heat gun - so perhaps its a race type specific thing... anyway... Found some strips - just need to know the wet and dry boiling points of standard Nissan brake jalopy and I can be a proper geek! Cheers! WhackyWill
Wouldn't bother, you will never get near the temperature of racing brakes..We ran carbon ones at 1200 deg C and even then sometimes they were not up to temperature at 1200 deg
Z-monster
I don't expect to get them THAT hot - the strips only go up to 200+/- a bit anyway! I'd just like to keep an eye on the brake fluid temps without needing to buy a temp. gun: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/brake-tools-accessories/a-p-racing-temperature-indication-strips
Z-monster
Should probably mention I'll only be using them on track days - not popping over to Tescos for milk - so there'll be some definite heat in them.
