Daryl
Today iv noticed what appears to be a knocking sound coming from the front. Noticed it more on rough, cobbled roads, and also more when applying lock to the steering, and when stopping. (IE pushing down on the front) Iv had the bannana arm bushes and ARB links replaced, could it be the top mounts of the dampers making this noise? Neilp
Could be but could also be the banana arm ball joints which isn't good as its a full new arm required.
Daryl
Sounds expensive! It sounds like its coming from the top, just behind the firewall. Is there anyway to check either issue?
ZMANALEX
Daryl, You will have to systematically check over the suspension which should only take around 15 mins to eliminate all other possibilities. However more than likely you will end back at the compression rod ball joint. All front and rear suspension parts are in stock and good to go same/next day if required. Alex. Daryl
Is it a complete front arm that is required for these to be replaced then Alex? No pushing it out and replacing? Also, can I reuse my Superpro bannana arm bushes that were installed a couple of years ago?
ZMANALEX
Unfortunately if it is the compression rod ball joint then you will have to replace the complete arm. Yes the SP bushings can be reused if you can remove and reinstall them without damaging them, however I would be tempted to just fit the new compression rod which comes with a new OEM bushing already fitted.
