KS2006
Hi All, I've been scanning the autotrader for a good few weeks now. Pretty much I will be going to a dealer as I've got a PX I don't want the agro to shift myself. I'd like an 06 car (engine upgrade + lighter clutch (from reading on here)) or a nice yellow GT4 (I know it has the engine upgrade but does it get the other bits?) If I go for a non GT4 I haven't yet decided between a roadster or coupe yet but I'm confused on the price variations. I've seen a fair number of v.low miles 06 roadsters n the autotrader for near as damit £25k. However there doesn't seem to be many coupes if at all at the same price (1k+ more). GT4's have a price premium to seemingly 23k most of the time. So now I'm starting to come to a conclusion that if a 06 or 56 coupe is going to be north of 25k I recon I might aswell say bugger it and save a bit more cash and wait a couple of extra months and order an 07 (depending upon delivery time - I know it comes out at 30k). Do you guys think the 07's (orange droool!! ) will force prices down or is it such a closed/slow market that prices will only ever drop slowly. Anyone know what finance % Nissan are doing atm compared to people like Northern Rock etc? Cheers
M13KYF
if you can afford it I would go for a 07.
sl114
Dont get the orange, it was such a let down in the flesh to me. It looks good close up and in the sun, but thats it. Every other time you and others will see the car, it will be at distance or not in sunlight and it looked so bland.
bower123456
im having the same debate:headhurt: for what i will cost for a gt4 i may aswell try and find a couple more grand and get an 06 i cant bring myself to pay 23k for a 2 year old car:scare: so i think im going to leave it for a couple of months and see what happens to the prices
KS2006
Yeah its annoying but I've been looking for a while so for me I'm gonna get my current car MOT'd etc so its in the best nick possible and then just hit the dealers in September. I've never bought a car from brand new due to depreciation but this could be the one and only time I might just say sod it Anyone actually had an 07 delivered yet? If the Orange isn't as good then I guess my next choice would be black or blue. I like the Azures (has this changed anyone seen the new blues?) but I have to say Z's look bad ass in black. I guess I was looking at brighter colours just to be a flash git
lomoto
seen the new blue yesterday at Silverstone (Nissan sent their press fleet cars there ) very dark blue in most lights and angles it looks black
Sarnie
I was hoping the Orange would be Focus St/ Lambo esque but it looked like a flat pastel shade of pukey orange
bower123456
ive always wanted a black one i know they get mucky quick but they look really nice when polished. ive never liked blue cars but the azures is really nice and it stands out. i will never buy a brand new car again after the last time, i lost loads but then again the 350 doesnt seem to depriciate very much i think i will get an 06 blue or black! Chris`I
Have to agree with what the others have said. Orange looks pap. No two ways about it. Even in the sun it looked carp to me. I think we saw the blue and I thought it was a black. Amanda pointed out to me that it was indeed blue and then I noticed it had the bonnet hump of the 07, so must have been. So there you go, it takes a womans sense of colour to realise its blue!
dunker
I don't think the orange looks too bad if you were to have the black wheels and then look at getting a carbon fibre bonnet..... and then spray the whole thing GM...

GIXXERUK
i've been looking at used prices on the z for a few months and they are totally inconsistent , you can get a 02 import up for 18.5k !! and a uk 04 plate gt for 16k ! no one seems to know what they are worth , i think its only months away before they go sub 10k on some cars, they also seem very difficult to sell unless you give them away , the non gt even more so, yes its a buyers market atm but its a frightening market to go into tbh , although theres nothing else out there i fancy on most cars, if you give me the mileage, year and general condition i could give you a value but there is no chance with the zed obviously any sports car with 2 seats appeals to a limited market but the imports are kicking seven shades out of the value of the uk cars and yet no one really wants to buy an import ?? go figure anyway the search continues ........... cheers paul
lomoto
I wouldn't get to hung up about money when buying a car like a 350z You either want one and your not bothered about losing a few quid or you are bothered about losing a few quid and keep your money in the building society No car is a good investment, they all lose money, youeither get enjoyment from them whilst they are shedding cash or buy something mundane and get no enjoyment and they still lose money (probably more than the Zed )
nixy
Yep, totally agree with you there. I dread to think of the money I've lost on cars over the years but I have enjoyed driving lots of different cars.
GIXXERUK
no its not the residuals that bother me , its the pricing, it seems to be so mixed up its difficult to pin down whats a good price or not if it was residuals i would buy a new mini or an escort cosworth both lose very little but thats like decorating your house the way the next owner wants it GM or azure GT is what i'm after lomoto your car looks and those seats are very

I've had a couple of real bargains from private sales of cars I spotted on Auto Trader and bought cars behind trade money, they would have made more in the Auction ! I have to disagree on them being difficult to sell. None GT pack cars and imports are always tough to move to the point that I won't buy them unless they come very cheap, but Uk cars with GT pack are very good news. The last one I had was for sale less than a week and I had other dealers calling asking me if I would trade it which is always a sign that the car is in demand. I'm quite prepared to travel the country to buy nice ones because I know they will sell. I've got a 53 plate Coupe coming tommorow and an 06 Roadster coming next Thursday and I don't expect either of them to hang about.
MickJ
Yep, totally agree with you there. I dread to think of the money I've lost on cars over the years but I have enjoyed driving lots of different cars. I'm the same, reckon I have had getting on for 60 cars now and lost on them all except for a 911 which I got my money back and a 944 which only 'lost' £500, oh and I forgot my previous Zed I got what I paid for it on trade in, one of the worst was my M3 which I had from new, 10 months down the line I lost £9k, one of the reasons I no longer buy BM's. Well i bow to greater knowledge on that one and its good to hear tbh, i see a lot of cars that have been for sale for a long time but i suppose thats the pricing not the car
