Mooresy14
Alright peeps I bought the rear view camera off eBay and got it installed but when having MOT today it failed as only one of my lights was working on the rear number plate. Reason being is that there is no bulb in the camera where the old bulb was! Now how easy is it to put one in there? I mean do I have to rewire it or put the bulb back and take out the camera? Has anyone had the same problem? It was an absolute mission for the guy to wire the camera in and it doesn't even work now so I wish I had not bothered! Richie-B
it wouldnt be too much ill to sort a reg light out. you would think the wiring would still be there and its just a case of plug and play. even if its not you have a working light about a foot away that you can take the power from.... I would really think that if you unclipped the camera and root about you will find the plug for the light... my rear view camera has the fitment for the oem light. are you sure your bulb hasnt just unclipped and sitting loose in the back of your bumper? Mooresy14
It's got the casing and the whole for it but don't think it came with the actual bulb. I'm not even sure where the original light bit is so if I only have the rear view camera and light bit do I need to boy a replacement bulb and fitment? Vlad
I got one of these: http://bit.ly/16qfxgv So you still have both bulbs
Richie-B
My ebay job camera would take the standard bulb/wire/connection but the fitment wasnt anywhere near as tight as the original fitment.... I would wager that the bulb/wire/connection has just come loose... if you lay on your back and look up through the back of the bumper the chances are you'll find you bulb and it will just be a case of clipping it back in.... worst case a new bulb then clip it in

Richie-B
Just out sealant around the little gap? yeah i got some rtv silicon glue and set it in place..... saves water getting in there as well and its easily broken when you need to replace a bulb

Briggsybriggs1
I got one off eBay £15 what fits in to the number plate light and its got a place for a bulb in it as well. Just change the camera and fit a bulb in it should take no more than half hour

Briggsybriggs1
I was going to say change your cam for one like the link but u have allready got one. Iv got the same cam as the link above its got a bulb In it as well. So if u have the same as that link there should be a bulb in it just pop it out and check the bulb is not blown or even fit in it. Mooresy14
I've just taken the back apart and I have no idea how the guy put the camera in. I'm not made out for this @*!# going to have to pay him to come out and sort it and put a bulb in there....
Mooresy14
I'm such a douchebag. My old man came round to have a look at it and simply unclipped the camera from underneath and the light bulb had gone! Didnt know you could access it that way!!!
