craigcaf Posted September 10, 2013 Share Posted September 10, 2013 I recently did an interior mirror upgrade on my TVR T350 using a Gentex auto dipping mirror with additional compass and temperature sensor. It's a great upgrade and the mirror is really good quality (GENK21). I believe that Gentex are the OEM supplier to Nissan for the electrochromic auto dipping mirrors. Does anyone know if the Gentex mirror goes straight onto the standard manual mirror windscreen mounting? I haven't pulled it apart to check. The mirror sits close to the bottom of the cover on the rain sensor on the windscreen. I was thinking if I can get that cover off as well and it's possible to drill a mounting hole then the wiring can go through there, behind the headling and down the A-post. Again wondered if anyone has done this. The Gentex mirror options can include external temperature, compass and a video camera feed. Although the car already has a rear parking camera, the camera feed would only be useful if putting a forward parking camera in (the front splitter is at kerb height and juts forward quite a bit, so easy to snag). Not sure that's necessary, but I suspect the first time I whack the front splitter I might change my mind on that one..... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
