Hooch
Just wondering if it would be a good idea to replace the standard sub woofer with a shallow mount sub? Something like this: http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-ts-sw2501s4_p-27130.htm?id=pla&gclid=CLb-iaupvLkCFbLMtAodw08AYA I know the bottle neck is at the amp but would be interested to see if it would make much of a difference? Briggsybriggs1
I fit a normel 10inc sub in stock mount and that works ok It's not the best way to put a sub but it works and its cheaper
Hooch
Does it improve the punch over the standard sub?
un1eash
Upgrading the headunit will give you more from the bose subwoofer. Most aftermarket subs require an enclosed box so something like that will need a custom box built.
Hooch
Only quickly looking wouldn't it be possible to replace it with a free air sub woofer something like this: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-GkHT1zMxhE7/p_130TSW254F/Pioneer-TS-W254F.html
flamez
if you want to run off the bose amp you will need a 0.5 ohm load or you wont drive a 4 ohm sub very well. I got around this by using an impedance adjuster or you would probably have to find a dual 1 ohm sub. After doing that i fitted the sub onto the metal bracket and found it wasnt solid enough when i started turning it up, so i ended up removing the bracket altogether and pushing a box into the space. hth Edited September 14, 2013 by flamez
