Zed revs dropping and almost or fully cutting out

Had this a couple of times now after it's been running for a while and say go for petrol, will start her up and fires no problem then revs will drop way low and almost if not will cut out.

 

No engine man lights coming on at all at the moment.

 

Bit damp today, possible factor?

 

Any thoughts?

No management light though, thought it would have triggered?

 

If I plug my reader in might it flag it even if EML not flashing?

Don't think so mate. Depending what system u have it sometimes shows pending codes. I don't think it will show a eml for the maf playing up either.

 

Is there anybody close that u could borrow a sensor from to test it out?

I had a similar problem where the revs dropped and it stalled a few times when I needed to restart the car after it had been on recently, so when filling up with petrol.

 

I had the throttle body cleaned when the plenum spacer was installed and its not happened since. I seem to remember reading a thread at the time suggesting it was throttle body related which led me to getting mine cleaned.

Yeah try a throttle body reset actually. Never thought about that

I have had the battery disconnected too, so probably part of it, will run through the reset procedure and give it a clean.

Mine kept doing this and stalled most times, cleaned the throttle body with a carb cleaner and it hasn't happened since!

+1 for a dirty throttle butterfly. Once cleaned don't forget to do an idle air reset or the reves will hover at 1.5K and do your head in!

Cleaned the throttle body and gave it a few good revs, problem solved.

As suggested, try the throttle body reset, maybe it needs a clean. You can also try cleaning the MAF.
