I'm afraid they don't like the Nismo

The 370Z doesn't have any downsides :D but the Nismo version is not worth the price difference. That body kit ruins the 370z IMHO. :( Only 16bhp more, red calipers and crappy seats? You can get that performance with an UpRev for only £400 :)

I like the in yer face styling of the Nismo but I agree that for the price the performance hike is disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I love the 370z (that's why I'm on my second one) but I do think it has a few minor issues e.g very noisy in the cabin. Still love it to bits though. (I'm having new tyres put on Friday - MPSSs - so hoping for at least some improvement in road noise).

Solve that problem with your 3rd 370z and buy a roadster, they are actually quieter wrt to road noise than the coupe due to all the padding and extra sotrage for the roof lol

It does look great gman and will turn heads.

Since you have had it for a few days how is the difference in the handling over your old one? the gtr specialist at aldershot said it was a huge step forward from the standard 370 and feels a lot better.

Hes an honest chap too, he said he couldnt recommend moving from the old 370 to the new facelifted version as its just too much just to get day time running lights.

Is quieter now good? I'm confused - I thought the stock 370z was supposed to be too quiet

I meant quieter in terms of road and tyre noise as the coupe tends to bounce the noise back into the cabin. The roadster has lots of extra insulation and the roof storage section to block that noise. If you mean exhaust wise then yes the Stock 370 is way to quiet as we all know, but easily fixed ;)

Thanks, I get it now. Maybe tyre choice could make a big difference? I'm interested as in the longer term I may well want to get a 370.

There's a particular bend that I take to get to my village after coming off the motorway, it's a particular favourite as if you get out of shape a bit, there's not much in the way of harm you can come to. Anyway, I've test driven a lot of cars, round this bend and today, was the first time I dared take the revs up a bit and sort of semi attack it, fanfechintastic, very flat and the torque, it's way superior to my uprevved 370, by a long way and that's no lie.

Early days buddy, but, once the leash is off...........

The mpss did make a differnce, yes its still noticable but its all part and parcel of the car, its not subtle.

If you fancy a trip in rosie more than happy to oblige anytime neil, just shout.

Anyways sorry for going off topic as rosie certainly isnt one of those new fangled nismos lol but she does like going topless ;)

Yes Dan, IMO, but the truth, I don't lie,

An opinion, by it's very nature, can never be the truth. A fact can be true, an opinion not.

Personally I can think of half a dozen new fun cars I'd buy instead of the 370ZN under £35K, including a standard 370, but that's just me. As long as you're happy with your purchase then that's all that really matters, but decrying someone else for daring to have an opinion that differs from yours? Do you really think that's fair?

One just need to look at markets bigger than UK to see how many 370z nismo parts are for sale, most of them from new, specially body kits, springs and exhausts. Here are some recent examples. Cant remember seeing so many Nismo bits sold off 350z in the US forums. It's pretty clear, 370z is a big FAIL :D

Would be very interested to hear the other 5....

Well its not my claim of half a dozen but I would stick in there something like a Lotus Elise, BMW 1 Series M Sport, have been passenger in Z4 2.8 which was fun but havent driven it. Of course are we excluding dafter cars like Caterhams and Westfields which are also in that price bracket which are infinitely more fun to drive but lack the practical points. We could also look outside your 2 seater options at the Renaultsport Meganes which are utterly brilliant fun cars.

Just as I thought, way over your head, whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh, and it's gone.

As long as you like the car that's all that matters, people are allowed an opinion but as has been said above it is only an opinion.

If everybody had the same view on cars we would all drive around in identical metal boxes having a great time. At the end of the day buy the car YOU like because you will be the one driving it

Exactly that - I currently think that all two seater sports cars should be built like my VX, but hey what do I know its just my opinion

its a stunning car and I would be with you if i could spare the cash!!! think you made a good choice for the money and i'm a tad jealous! the build quality will also be far better than aftermarket parts on a standard 370 I would of thought?

hope you're having fun in it anyway! again... very jealous :(

the only one I would agree with there is the Lotus, i don't even look twice at M3's 5's 6's or z4's. Maybe a quick second look at a z8 but can't see any of them going by.

Driving a renault makes me sick :yuck: yes they are quick and probably handle pretty well but god no !

would love a caterham or a westfield, prefer an ariel atom but those are as you pointed out track cars. I do think the 370 is a good all rounder, the nismo is expensive but I do think if someone notices the difference having owned a 370 previously it must be pretty good :teeth:

IMO if I had a little over 30K to spend on a car I would be looking in the 2nd hand market at either 911 or XK or something of that prestige :teeth:
