kinglozzer
Hi all, First off, I have no knowlegde of wheels/offsets/tyres etc so please be kind . I'm looking getting some new wheels, the HRE 590RS look amazing IMO . Anyone know if I'm likely to need spacers or anything? Also, what colour do you think would look best on my silver Zed (below)? I'm looking towards matte/gloss black, can't find any pictures of them on a silver zed though . Apparently they're "custom made" on request, so I'm guessing I'll have to order direct (or at least it'll probably be cheapest direct) if they still make them. Advice & comments appreciated . My car (flag pole is gone): The wheels:
Ekona
If they make them to custom fit, then get them in the standard offsets: No need to worry about spacers or anything then! I'd stick with silver on your car, dark wheels don't really work on silver/grey cars.
KyleR
9.5" front with an offset of +20mm and 10.5" rear with an offset also of +20mm. That'll do the trick nicely

kinglozzer
Thanks for the advice so far . Any more comments on colour? I've been trying (and failing) to find pictures of similar wheels on a silver car, gloss/matte black with silver lip. Is it safer to get silver then get them sprayed later if I want? Also, I'll need 4 new corners of rubber (I nearly do at the moment anyway). What tyres should I get? I know most on here recommend the same set of tyres (the name escapes me), would they fit? I'm happy to pay the extra for extra grip Thanks all Edited September 3, 2013 by kinglozzer

Sized
I assume you're getting 19" rims OP? They'll look awesome with the offsets KyleR has mentioned Make sure you put some pics up! +1 for MPSS tyres too.

That's what I assumed, it would be an awful waste to get custom rims made in OEM sizes.
kinglozzer
Ah the Super Sports were what I meant! Of course, I'll absolutely be posting pics if I get them! Will email them tonight for a quote. Do you all think silver would be the best option?
Sized
You can't go wrong with silver ('tis what colour my SSRs are on a blade coupe), but if you're going for a colour scheme for future mods (e.g. engine bay) then a more 'out there' colour to match that might look good. kinglozzer
Ahh tough choices. Looks okay in this colour, pretty similar looking silver: http://www.hrewheels.com/gallery/lexus-is-with-hre-560c-in-gloss-charcoal. Thoughts? Emailing them now, will check if/how much extra it costs for a colour w/ polished lip.

kinglozzer
Hope you've got deep pockets Last time I inquired about a set they were around £4K That much? Daaayum, I wasn't expecting them to be cheap but that might be out of reach! Will see what they say when they get back to me, but looks like it's back to the drawing board for now
kinglozzer
For anyone curious, the quote came back at 7,799€. Which in GBP is a f*****g lot! I'm going to put buying any new wheels off until the spring, I'd be putting the standard ones back on ready for winter soon anyway! Thanks for all the advice guys

LRF4N
Nice wheels^^ In fact I'd say they're nicer than the custom ones- I prefer Y spokes wheels in 7s rather than 8s and yes I'm biased
KyleR
^^ those are beautiful and I agree with the 7 spoke thing, seems a little less cluttered.
