Basically got my sound system ready to fit but just got to get the last piece of the puzzel

Got the usual stuff

pioneer Sub

JBL 4 channel amp

infinity components rear speakers

Pioneer x2500BT (still got to buy)

Now the question is what front speakers would be best for quality at loudness as i hate crackling speakers!, of course they will be hooked up to my amp too

jbl

jbl 2

hertz

jbl 3

Im thinking more the JBL 3, but would like to see what you guys say?

also if anyone else recommends something feel free :)

Well if you're asking :teeth: I don't hate my Hertz amp either

or the front Hertz components

or the rear Hertz coaxials

It's very probably not the loudest, but I find it is an improvement over the Bose in terms of detail. I'd probably put some dynamat on your shopping list too, my rear section does like to vibrate at volume, even with it in.

I've never been a fan of mixing makes of speakers for your highs and mids. If you just want an upgrade from standard then I guess they'll be fine but if you're serious about getting a decent sound then I would forget about the Hertz and JBLs. If you've got Infinity components then go for Infinity.

Just a quick question though, if you've got Infinity components then why do you need some more components?

To be fair you won't need to get anything else if you have a good set of components and a decent sub.

I won my first EMMA competition with a set of Focal Access components and a Hertz HX250 sub powered by a Rainbow 4.300 amp. Considering I was up against 2 cars that were full of speakers it just goes to show that quality always beats quantity.

So if you are thinking of spending some money then I would say just get some better components than the Infinitys and sell them. Hertz are decent, Rainbow are also fantastic, Focal do some pretty reasonable stuff too.

well i was just looking really then thought the jbl's would be good enough for the price.. the infinitys in the rear wont even be on the amp just HU, as i just want them with a hint of sound as i prefer it not blown in my ear from the back

The front speakers and sub will only be powered by the amp

I had speakers in the back of my ST and when I did the install I just disconnected them. If you are connecting your Infinities to your head unit then they will affect your sound quality up at high volumes. The 50w channels just aren't powerful enough to give you clarity all the way through the volume range.

You are best off with just one set of components through and your sub through the amp. Otherwise you will end up with one half of your highs and mids being clear and the other half being distorted when you crank the volume up.

If you let me know what kind of money you want to spend and what music you listen to the most I can advise you best on what speakers to go for.

I've just bought these JBL Power Series components for the front of mine to go with a Genesis Profile 4 amp. I'll be installing in the next few weeks so I'll let you know how they sound. I'm aiming for SQ rather than SPL but don't want to spend a fortune....though it's not looking good on the latter front. ie. head harness, facia, quality amp cables, rca cables, damping mats, glove box sub box, head, blah blah. Fun doing it though :-)
