After much thinking and in process of buying house, looks like il get the house cheaper then I expected so will have some surplus and have decided sadly give up the zed and to try go for an upgrade now while I can and im young.

Doubt anyone will buy the zed as it is as theres soooo many out there at the moment, so may just take it as trade in price and sell lots of bits on here.

But here are my top 2 choices any other suggestions in this category feel free to mention

1.Noble m12

2.Lotus Elise

Obviously the Noble is the one i want though much more expensive..do you think there price will drop much?? or get an elise for now and trade up to the noble in a couple of years?

Not sure whether to bite the bullet now or play it safe with the lotus...only if the Noble would drop though (im not good on valuations lol)

plus Noble owners (the ones ive enquired about buying off) seem like knob jockeys  so i will be staying on this forum for sure.

first seller I saw (in a posh nonse voice) 'are you lost young man' 'you dont seem like your from here'

colin has sent me a link with some noble problems on it..thanks col...opens your eyes up a bit to whats invovled outside the normal running costs and pushes me more towards a lotus purely based on production methods etc

I had an Exige, great fun and also hold their value very well. Mine was an S2 N/A, so had just 190bhp but in something that weights just 850kg it is a quick car. The supercharged ones are a bit quicker but plenty more torque.

They are cheapish to run, servicing not that expensive at specialists, easily over 30mpg, but the semi slick tyres are a bit pricey. They have so much grip it's unreal, and fantatsic steering feedback. Downsides are obviously not very practical, had to wear ear plugs on motorway trips, and have to take extreme care with speed humps, multistory car parks etc. I have never driven a Noble so can't compare, but you should definitely try an Exige.

Isn't that an Exige? If it was me, I'd go for the Noble. The Lotus is nice, but how many times in your life are you going to be able to own a super rare British supercar? I wouldn't have thought the price of those will go down much, they may even rise over the next few years.

i thought about porsches but not really me tbh i like something slightly rarer really

do you have to put those semi slicks on the exige??or are there any other tyre options

..thats what i was thinking paddy it will be somethingI would like to keep for the next 6 years at least so if it holds it value or even increases that would be great..though if the lotus will do the same thats edging it a bit as by the looks of it even changing a bulb on the noble requires cutting through a panel and resealing it after :scare:

No there are other options, and you'd be silly to use semi slicks in winter unless being very careful. Cost wise, they have toyota engines so very reliable as long as serviced correctly, and a service is normally between £200-350. Costs start to go up if things go wrong, the air conditioning is known to have problems for example, and it's a labour intensive job as the whole clam has to come off. It's about £1000 fix. With Lotus, it's all about the little niggles and quirks. The remote central locking on mine would not work unlesss I was holding the fob over the roof for example.

No help what-so-ever, but to me, from that angle, the Noble looks like a Celica GT4 with a OTT bodykit! (Think it's the rear lights)

Wash your mouth out with oil young man!!

At a very first fleeting glance I thought it was an MR2, the roof and rear quarters look similar (maybe if you cross you eyes).

Didn't mean to scare you with that link mate! Just wanted to give you an insight into ownership...

Lotus are generally good, although they are as someone said 'niggly' - you get little bits and pieces going all the time but they are usually cheap fixes (well they are on the VX anyways with all the vauxhall parts readily available).

If you got the cash spare, do the Noble for a year and sell it on then get something like the Lotus which is long term affordable? If you can get the Exige S, supercharged mental performance.

To echo the above, Europa is basically a turbo vx220 with a roof and some slight modifications. The door aperture is slightly larger and the interior more comfy (although the latter is easily achievable in a standard elise with a couple hundred quids worth of work).

They will definitely appreciate in value though...
