Hi, my boyfriends nissan 350z has had his rocket cover gaskets replaced and his car is now not firing on all cylinders! It's coming up with the code PO300 on diagnostics we've replaced all gaskets and coil pencils and it's still not going?! Can anyone advise any ideas or any Nissan specialists in the Cheshire area as the Nissan garage is shocking for help on the 350s! Thank you and please help!!

Has the spark plug leads/coils been mixed up? Have all the coils been checked that they are ok?

Not sure which garages down your way but you may find that you will receive more help on here when the experts read this .

You have got two of the coil pack leads mixed up on bank 2, resulting in running on only 4 cyls.

In particular look at cyls number 4 and 6 as these are the two that you have most likely transposed. ;)

The fix is in post number 11.

Alex.

We've already tried that and it hasn't worked thanks tho :)

As other have said. Alex knows more than most people on these cars and 10 out of 10 times he's correct.

Have u adjusted the throttle body in any way when changing parts? This can cause issues also but not similar to what your saying.

It's worth doing a throttle body reset procedure. It can be found in the guide section of the forum

The only part of the engine that has been touched is the inlet plenum manifold, we've had a mechanic working on it but he's now run out of ideas, I appreciate all the help you guys are giving we'll try some more tomorrow! But everything mentioned about the coils etc we've tried and it's still just got not power when driving just feels sluggish and @*!# and still showing the code PO300 on diagnostics :(

The inlet plenum/manifold is has the throttle body attached to it. Do a throttle body reset first of all before trying anything else. If the mechanic is struggling then take it to one of the specialists mentioned on here.

The Powerhouse in sandycroft have worked on a few zed's now and they've got really good mechs working there.

Might be a little closer than Warrington if its running like a bag of spanners.

With the car idling, remove the grey connector for plug 6 (nearest pax) and plug 4 (to the left of it) and see if there is any change, this will help you locate which cylinder it is. If its not those 2, try the other plugs one at a time.

The plug lay out for bank 2 should look like this:

Providing your mechanic has not done something stupid and the plugs are all good and he has not got cyls 4 an 6 mixed up then another thing to check are the 3 x prongs on each coil pack as they are easy to damage by the untrained.

Are you not able to trace the fault to a particular cyl. ?

Your issue should be relatively easy to trace and fix.
