Suits
I would just like some information on what aftermarket exhaust you bought for your car, why and how you're finding it ? I've read the US Forums but they live by other rules over there so I'm keen for opinion this side of the Atlantic . I'm not sure on the Fast Intentions one but know it's a popular choice so I'd like to know more. I also like the ARK and the HKS, so if anyone has any info on these that would be good. Just what you've got and why really..... :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:
ioneabee
well - berks cats and berks cat back just loverly reason why - I always tend to think that 2 separate items will always be better designed to go together if from the same make - that was my initial reasoning anyway but the sound "suits" me perfectly

I had a full Mugen system on my S2000. Good shout on the Berks.

philb1965
HKS hi power Ti...true dual, sounds great and top quality. I think I'm the only one in the UK at the minute...is that good or bad??? I like the look of the separate silencers at the rear, looks way better than a single box IMO. I'd like some berks and an Uprev but redundancy in the next two weeks means holding fire for the moment. Supplied by Abbey.
Suits
PM me your offer and I shall go ahead and buy the MeisterSchaft tomorrow It's as new, about 1600 miles on it OK, well if I come up with an idea of how much I want to pay, I'll PM you. Other than that I'll wait until you're in a position to sell thanks .
Suits
HKS hi power Ti...true dual, sounds great and top quality. Yeah, these systems look great and I really love the sound on the wind-down they give out, they just let me down on the sound under load. I bet when it's really hot it barks and snaps like mad !!! ScottyZ
I went for the Akrapovic full system mainly because I wanted top build quality - I wasn't disappointed, although it might be a little quiet for some hence why I went for the Berks HFC's at the same time. The Berks HFC's make a big difference and with the combo I've got now I wouldn't want it any louder. If I had my time again it would be a close call between the HKS Hi Power and the Akrapovic - both high end systems that cost similar money although I must admit the HKS does look rather special. As always you get what you pay for.

Thanks man, thats very helpful. I too prefer the more subtle side of things when it comes to systems, well, I have done in the past anyway. Will370z
I'm still loving the Stillen exhaust. Its not the loudest out there but its a nice quality fruity noise and it looks awesome. Here's a little video of my recently at Prescott: And heres the car after the stillen was fitted and then the berks added. Unfortunately the berks came off as they were just too much and did my head in, spolit the pure noise of the stillen too

Sounds very nice without being completely mental. I've had compliments on the sound from people who've heard various different systems (e.g. Mark at Abbey). Not the most unobtrusive looking exhaust though - big shiny tips
Bems
Stillen sound good but stillen + berks sounds great IMO
Jay
True dual custom exhaust, so I could choose the sound I wanted but also the style and the tips etc
sipar69
Stillen sound good but stillen + berks sounds great IMO Unfortunately there is a fitment issue for some people with the Stillen and the Berks which leads to a nasty vibration. I don't think it affects every 370Z, as it seems to be a popular combination in the U.S, but it's held me back due to the potential hassle. Will370z
Yup it gave me no end of trouble and you could feel the car vibrate. Really wasn't right. Was disappointed at first but realised the Stillen by itself is perfectly fine and seems to be improving with age
Suits
What's the issue with the Stillen set up then that causes vibrations ???
Will370z
I did a huge post ages ago on it so search should dig it up. The Stillen sits very low on the car, the HFC's push the exhaust even lower so it rests on one of the bars under the car. It's a known issue in the US. People end up modifying the exhaust or putting rubber plugs between the exhaust and the bar. I tried the berks HFC's and Stillens own and both had the same problem. I tried the car for 2 weeks and it did sound very aggressive and loud and i kinda liked it but then it soon got unbearable. After advice from 2 specialist garages i decided against modifying the exhaust and returned the hfcs to Tarmac who i have to say was excellent throughout the whole process it trying to make things work for me. I loved the hfcs and milltek on my 350 but it wasnt meant to be for the 370z. So if you want more noise than the Stillen via HFCs i would have to say don't chose the Stillen but if you want a lovely sounding exhaust without the HFC's its a great choice
ioneabee
it was only on Will370z that I recall - the alignment pushed the exhaust down and on the cross brace causing vibration

Suits
Hmm, I had a Fujitsubo that did the same on the ARB. So annoying. I fixed it with powerflex hangers and a million cable ties . To be clear though, the Stillen clears everythig fine on OEM CAT's though right, no knocking ??
