zabba
Hi All, I'm new to Zed ownership and I need new front discs and pads. I think the current brakes fitted to my car are standard and are not quite good enough for me, but not sure whether that it because they need replacing or they are normally like that. I don't intend to track the car, so quick road use is all I need. I don't want to skimp on brakes, but also don't want to spend unnecessary money on expensive brakes that I won't see any benefit from. I had the car at TGM Fleet on saturday for a look over, and he suggested Pagid discs with either brembo pads or DS2500 pads for a bit more bite. This would cost about £250 before fitting which seems reasonable, but unsure whether the Pagid discs would be up to it. I like the idea of Brembo or DBA discs, but £200 more is lot of money if I won't get the benefit. The inbetween discs seem to be Black Diamond or EBC, and these seem to have very mixed reviews. What do people think?
spursmaddave
Think about getting braided brake lines too they will add much more feel to the brakes, to be honest a decent brand of disks and pads should be more than adequate
Arran
Pagid discs will be fine, Ebc yellowstuff pads will do more than you need them to aswell

rabbitstew
I fitted the DS2500 pads to mine and I was very very impressed with them. They did cost about the £250 mark for full set of pads all around, which was quite funny as I did my wifes Peugeot 307 at the same time and a full set of pads for her car came in at about £25. As for fitting, id definitely just do them yourself, ive done literally hundreds of brake pads on cars over the years and the brembos are by far the easiest to change. You just need a pair of pliers. (well, once you have jacked the car up and got the wheel off).
jonny the mod
Bluestuff NDX pads on mine (were on when I bought the car). Not mega expensive and to be honest they are the best pads ive had on a car. Jonny
buster
I fitted kinetix front + rear grooved and dimpled discs along with stop tech pads(from Tarmac) and have to say they are great.....much better than the standard discs with ds2500 front pads. zabba
Thanks for the responses, gives me something to think about. Might just go with Pagid discs and DS2500 pads.
