P15UL T
well guys i went to Dastek yesterday to get the car on the rollers to find out how it was running: Maximum power - wheels 233.3bhp @ 6040 rpm maximum power - engine 269.1 bhp @ 6114 rpm maximum torque - 261.1 lbft @ 4589rpm i have the nismo system exhaust and k+n typhoon on it and i know that the ecu compensates for this but i was under the impression that the car should be making nearer 280 bhp is nissan being a bit optimistic with there quotes ? any info would be great and here are a couple of videos Paul http://s177.photobucket.com/albums/w204 ... 0_1111.flv http://s177.photobucket.com/albums/w204 ... 0_1104.flv http://s177.photobucket.com/albums/w204 ... 0_1109.flv
Removed
sounds about right mate. Original UK cars were rated at 276bhp, or 280PS anyway, yours is imo spot on. Forget about the mods, but you know that already Plus, the dyno might not necessarily have been 100% correct, and too many variants come into play anyway, weather pressure and so on. Sarnie
Could the type of petrol used be a factor?

Zzzz...
By rollers i guess you means the power out put measured at the wheels right? I think OEM tend to quote the flywheel figure, and by the time you put in all the losses of the powertrain system. The factor into that fuel quality, air temperature, ECU program according to your previous driving history etc and other factors and I think 230 bhp at the wheels is not that bad... next time fill her up with shell v-power petrol a couple of times before the dyno roller, and reset the ECU... i bet you could get a couple of horses up from this measurement... Pingu2
normally people seem to take off 18% for rwd car for power loss to wheels.. so yours is fine - would work out at 284bhp
rmmackfc
Dastek, funny that they are in this months Banzai I believe. Have they done a Unichip for the 350? Sounds
Removed
yup they have.... but would stay well clear of it if it's the soldered-on one, otherwise their other module is the same as the stuff they put in the APS TT, but for the price you'd want something better. P15UL T
they had mentioned they had done a couple and got hem up to 290bph with the unichip but i didnt ask to much more as i wasnt planning going down that route
rmmackfc
290...hardly worth it then really
Zzzz...
I am guessing they mean 290 at the wheels compared to the 230 measured at the wheels in std format...
rmmackfc
...hmm not sure. There website doesn't give much away, but for NA engines there doesn't seem like a big hike in bhp
P15UL T
again they didnt say - but i would imagine it would be at the flywheel
