I know its a cheeky title but seriously, since owning the car ive mostly received negative feedback from guys. but oddly my women friends all love the car. this stuff is sort of bothering me now although personally most the friends or people I thought were friends. Were probably worth losing anyway! <-- all this caused by owning a ZED! seriously completely alienated now by my old work place! (dead end gearbox building job) So after buying the car the stoner from said previous workplace phoned me up to tell me how EVERYONE is sour grapes about you! i asked seriously they said yea you bought that car! they're also trying to run it down now " oh its too old " oh its been ragged " (how the f does anyone know my cars been ragged?). needless to say i haven't spoke with them since but i feel compelled now to pull up in the loading bay one of these days in the zed to have a catch up lol! and the above theme has just about carried on with everyone i know /known work / worked with! and the icing on the cake was last night i put a pic up of my car on the ole Facebook this one to which again the women loved it but then came the first quote! "that would look better next to my MATES GTR" next quote pretty much telling me to stop taking pics of the car as its like an obsessed model ! wtf seriously i also left out one of the guys being like this, he personally owns a half million pound plus house in the lickies and has 100k in his bank balance! i dont get it, my other halfs ford focus cost nearly double what i paid for the ZED and people act like this! not to mention the general feeling if i leave anywhere its going to get keyed! rant over i could keep going but it just might make me seem petty i dunno! hey on the flip side at least all my female friends haven't abandoned me lol, <-- that would be the icing on the cake lol! I put it down to jealousy, not because I can afford an 8k car, because they can afford a 15k car on corporal wages, but bbecausethey cant have a 2seater coupe. They have estates. All down to normal jealousy of how your life is panning out etc. Maybe not the same in your case, but defo my case. Had a puncture on base and it was a nail through tyre, car was sitting there for a week and no problems, following day tyre had nail in it. Maybe slow puncture that just tore, but such is life. I prefer a bit of self-deprecating humour when it comes to stuff like that, hence referring to the VXR220 as a canoe, the 350Z as a Datsun, the 911 as a Beetle and the MX5 as the sheddy spawn of Satan. Coming from a girl I have never once had someone say a bad thing about my zed in fact it is men that absolutely love it and appreciate it. Just goes to show your so called friends and work mates are incredibly childish. I would just try your best to ignore that crap and enjoy your zed (easier said than done I know) !! When I bought my zed, most of my mates were "wow, thats a serious nice car" except a couple who gave me all the jokes about hairdressing & where do you keep the sissors. Once they found out how much I paid for the car, that didnt help as they just didnt understand why I wouldnt have bought a porsche or masserati or range rover or all sorts of other things which they regarded as more desirable than the zed. But I just ignored them as they drive crappy mondeos & can only dream of being able to afford or even be allowed to have a 2 seater car. I didnt help matters again when I got the 123d Coupe. I must say I don't think I've really got negative/jealous comments (bar the odd walkaround with people pointing things out telling me what a bomb each thing would be to replace) not to say I don't get said negativity out of earshot haha Although i do seem tl have the same conversatiok witj literallt everyone asking how I could afford it and what's the insurence on that.
