Air conditioning - does it go lower than 18degrees?

After seeing digital climate controls in other cars, I thought the minimum (counter clock wise) below 18 is "Low", and the maximum (clockwise) would be "High/Max". As it's climate control, would the second click regulate at 18deg, the second to top maintain 32deg? Then the extremes will either max cool or heat. When using aircon for cooling I push the button then go maximum counter clockwise.

So basically LOW - 18-32 - HIGH on the dial

Low means running constantly at full whack and max is running full whack on heating.

This is a thermostat and doesnt control the air temp coming out the vents, althought the air temp will vary.

If set at 18degrees then its got to cool the car down to 18degrees. So it will ramp up at first to full load and once the temp is approached it will slowly lower the load to maintain the temp
