BLINDS122000 Posted July 13, 2013 Share Posted July 13, 2013 Hi all Was pulling out of the drive yesterday to start a long journy to Goodwood FOS when i heard the exhaust starting to blow, seemed to of got worse along the journey. Been thinking of changing the exhaust system for a while now, so now seems a good time to change. Ive always had my eye on the 5zigen pro racer sp, although quite expensive i like the way it keeps the stock sound but louder. From reading posts on here i also read good things about the Cobra exhaust. Is there much difference in terms of tone between the cobra and the 5zigen? Listend to examples on youtube of the Cobra and liked the sound but felt the 5zigen sounded more stock but louder, which is what im after. BLINDS122000 Posted July 28, 2013 Author Share Posted July 28, 2013 Had the Cobra non resonated fitted yesterday and wow what a noise!! My first impressions were it sounded very close to how the GTR sounds. That deep smooth aggressive sound Really happy with it, pretty loud on throttle, but settles down when not accelerating. Quite abit of drone when cruising say in 6th gear and you start to accelerate but i guess thats what you get for having the non resonated. BLINDS122000 Posted September 5, 2013 Author Share Posted September 5, 2013 Hi all So far really pleased with Cobra non resonated exhaust, its pretty loud at 4k but beyond this it seems to quieten down alot to the point to you cant really hear it. I do have pop chargers installed so not sure if taking these off would preserve the exhaust note more. what would be the next step to getting a better sound higher up the rev range?
