FUG
So I know there are various other related posts but trying to collect a consensus on the best options available. Really like my milltek system the note is good just want to exaggerate it to make it bit more of a head turner! Considered scrapping it for a louder alternative but I think keeping it would be more sensible , don't want drone etc Do HFCs make it louder or just add a rasp ? Considering a custom straight through mid pipe also if not too pricey I have added a pop charger for bit more oomph Think I am always guna wana keep increasing the noise at this rate ! Will370z
All i will say is i had a milltek, loved it but it wasnt loud enough. I then added berks hfcs, purely for the sound. Without doubt it was the best thing i did to the car, i fell in love with the car again, it was like giving the milltek viagra. I really do miss that sound. You do get a rasp but i liked it. I can list off a number of people who have gone for the same combo - glrnet, spursmaddave, bockerack and coldel. Cant recommend it highly enough. You will love it

Dynamic Turtle
MIlltek / HFC sounds like a nice balance to me - happy with mine. Quiet on the motorway and fruity on full throttle with some overrun crackle. If you're trying to make the zed sound like corvette or a viper, you're probably going to need a bigger engine rather than decats? HFC rasp sounds much better outside the car than in it - lots of positive comments from the other guys on a recent road trip.
14N
I've just gone through a similar thing with mine. I have a Japspeed K2 and although it sounded 'nice' I wanted a bit more volume. I had a new centre section made up last weekend (from the Y pipe to the rear silencer - check my build thread). The OEM one is 2.25 inches in diameter with a muffler in the middle. The new centre section I have is a 3 inch diameter straight thru without the muffler. Because the rear silencer (in my case a K2, but also the Milltek) is chambered, it hasn't really increased the volume by much. A little, yes, and it does sound nice in the car at 2k rpm, but volume wise, not a massive difference. I'd go for the HFC if I were you. Has a really nice bark and rasp
spursmaddave
MIlltek & Berks FTW add a Pop Charger and you have a lovely sounding car imo
smudgedon
As the only person (as far as I know) with a straight through mid pipe, I can advise NOT to do it Yes it's great fun, but it is VERY loud
AliveBoy
I've got Japspeed decats no mid box and a Japspeed K2 backbox which shat its baffles at Santa pod. It sounds ok, bit raspy sometimes but otherwise ok. Gets MUCH louder after a drift day though. Gets quieter again after a few days.

Ian
If you want loud, just go decatted straight thru single exit

Arran
Cant comment on berk decats but the motordyne art pipes are quieter than the berk hfc although produce and entirely different sound to regular decats and hfcs
