downhuman
Bit fed up with the rusty wheel hubs ruining the view through my wheels. Anyone painted their hubs? Is it safe to do ?
Marcus01
Yes perfectly ok. Hammerite smooth is good for high temps. A business freind of mine paints exhaust manifolds and the paint stays on so should be good to paint hub edges and disc brake body's without any worrys. Jp606
I painted the brake rotor hubs on my old car with Hammerite and it couldn't stand up to the high temperatures, it ended up blistering and peeling off and looked a mess after a few months. I'd go with some VHT paint if I was you. Halfords do a range of colours, going to do mine at some point. Paddy78
I got some BBQ / stove paint from homebase. It's good to 600C so should be ok. Any VHT or manifold paint will be fine.

downhuman
Cheers chaps. In a previous car I painted the callipers with Hammerite and it caught fire on track and bubbled off
spursmaddave
Haha I expect calipers get pretty hot on track
