jollyranchers
Had the front brake pads out earlier , ive bought Brembo replacements however they are slightly different and have a grove down the middle. Has anyone else found this ? Do I need new anti squeal rubber shims ? the new brembo pads don't have them stuck on the back. DoogyRev
Should be fine with the line down the middle. I expect its for cooling. Unless you want people to hear you break, get some anti-squeal shims fitted
jollyranchers
its weird the ones that came out have the diagonal line in the pad , the brand newy's don't. I can also only see one part number for the Brembo's for the front. Maybe Brembo changed the pad pattern ? Will get some shims sorted Edited June 30, 2013 by jollyranchers

KyleR
How easy are the pistons to push back ? , without sounding retarded im assuming i need to push back each individual piston with a G clamp That's how I did it. Take cap off reservoir and use g clamps to push all pistons back then when you take them off they should move much.

Bagz
Just curious, why wouldn't you re-use the original shims? I've always done this on my bikes without issue.

Same here - just re-use the old ones after cleaning them up and a dab of copper grease (and they're metal, not rubber).
jollyranchers
The shims looked pretty tatty , for the price of new ones you may just as well change them
350 Russ
did you use the brake pads or return them, personally i wouldnt use them imo ive got a feeling there fakes, legit brembo pads have the groove and my Yellowstuff ones did too front and rear
