Dayy
Hi guys, Just recently started doing a few mods here and there on my Zed (all purely cosmetic so far), but now I have most of what I want doing cosmetically out of the way (I want to keep it looking fairly stock for now) I am looking towards performance mods. I won't be doing anything for some time yet I wouldn't have thought, as I would want to save up the money specifically for this rather than dipping in to savings I already have. Just trying to get a rough idea of the best places to start. I think I read (unless my newbie self misinterpreted it) that it is best to do certain mods before others, to get the most out of the mods. So it is things like that I am curious about. The cost of it all isn't a huge factor - I don't mind spending cash if it's worthwhile - but I want to make sure that I do things properly, in the right order so I am not wasting money. I know its a fairly broad request, but you guys have been really friendly and helpful so far Thanks,
ddcboyle
The only two engine mods ive bought are k&n typhoon and invidia exhaust. Makes the car sound better and drive smoother. Didnt recognise nearly 1,000pounds worth of difference lol Edited June 27, 2013 by ddcboyle
350 Russ
how much performance are you looking for? anything really noticeable your looking at probably 5-6k and going FI. quite a few owner stick to a plenum spacer, panel filter, high flow cats and exhaust and a remap for probably 20hp and a few grand, hope this helps http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/68888-abbey-na-staged-upgrades-for-350370z-and-350gt-skylines/
Stutopia
I found this an interesting read, not sure how up to date it is, but things to consider. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/1604-modification-guide-one-stop-thread/

spursmaddave
If I was starting again it would be - Tyres Brakes Exhaust Induction UpRev Sorted But understandably some want suspention mods, I never saw the need for fast (legal) road driving as I never had any intention of taking my Zed on a track. Darren-B
Cheapest way to increase the performance on a zed is learn how to drive it properly (if you don`t already), decent tyres, suspension & brakes. Then look into engine performance (this is when it gets really expensive ) Edited June 27, 2013 by Darren-B

wmr1980
Although I'm not yet an owner (I hope to be in a couple of months), one thing I've always done is a bit of performance tweaking. From what I've read, it seems plenum mod, intake, exhaust and ecu remap are worthy of looking at. From my few test drives, the handling doesn't seem to need much tweaking but perhaps a geo that suits your driving style may be sensible. I you're going to go faster you also want to consider the brakes, but from again a limited experience, the brakes seemed good in terms of feedback and power.
