Servicing costs - 73k miles???

Hi all,

Ive been in touch with Phil (madgrip) about his Z thats for sale however its a high miler (69K) at present.

He says its due a service at 73K - how much would people expect this to cost and what bits could I expect to need replacing.

Im tempted to have a look at it but dont want to get stung with a big servicing bill straight away if I can help it.

Cheers

Ross

I'm not sure as I'm out the country at the mo so can't check my service book but I wouldn't worry. The car looks mint and it's a great price so wouldn't worry if it needs a P3 (I think less than £300) in a few thousand miles.

You'll spend more than that going to look for minters around the country!

P1 9000 120 quid aprox.

P2 18000 150 quid aprox.

P1 27000 120 quid aprox.

P3 36000 280 quid aprox.

P1 45000 ...

P2 54000 ...

P1 63000 ...

P3 72000280-300 quid

specialised nissan garage will be cheaper... and since you are out of warranty ( me thinks...) it is not worth going to a nissan stealer ... but as people say here get the big service in... select your own oils etc...and then you have a clean sheet to start from... worth it

Next service is due at 72k and is a P3, which is the most expensive, but saying that i've never heard of one being more than £300. The next service at 81k is a P1 and is the cheapest, then a P2, then a P1 again and then back to a P3. Basically meaning that its cheap servicing for the next three times after the next one

Get it bought :teeth:

Thats not too bad at all - I was expecting a £500 - £600er.

I've just had my golf gti serviced (by my mate at a VW dealership) and that was still £350 on the cheap so I'd be happy with £300 for the Z

When do clutches etc need doing or is that all to do with how the car has had its life?

I am VERY tempted but my Mrs is worried about the mileage and the resale. We will only have it for a couple of years I think - my argument is that we'll only put 10kmiles max on it and the other early Z's will be catching up by then if they do average miles - so when time comes to say bye bye ours wont be such a high miler on the grand scheme of things...

If you buy this for say £15.5k you sell it for £12k in 2 yrs. If you buy one with less miles for £17.5k you sell it for £14k. The loss of £3.5k is exactly the same. You buy cheap and sell cheap plus you get to spend £2k on the mrs which may keep her quiet :teeth:
