14N
OK, so it's that time of year again so I'm hitting the comparison sites. Got a good quote that I'm happy with on the Zed of £334. So, just for the hell of it, I thought I'd edit the car details and see what my dream car would cost to insure. So all I changed was the car and nothing else. So still parked on driveway, 2 claims, 12000 miles a year (daily driver) etc etc. A 2005 Lanborghini Gallardo V10 with a value of £60k would cost me, fully conprehensive, for a year - £506 I paid more than that for the Zed last year! KyleR
Yup, mines about £800, however for GTR's, 360's, DB9's etc its all around £1200. Now I just need about £50k to buy one

Dave-350
Mad - I remember paying £2,000 on my 328i Sport! Lol. Was a first car though ; )
14N
This is fun! (But depressing as you say Kyle. I can afford the insurance, but I'm about £50k short of the actual car purchase). GTR premium = £560.

rtbiscuit
some cars aren't as bad as you think, my XKR when un modded was £200 a year. but with mods etc and agreed value its now about £
AMT
£900+ for either DB9/Vantage....shame I can't afford to buy one lol
14N
Turns out that the £334 quote I mention in my original post was with the maximum of 6 mods you're allowed to enter on any online quotation site. When trying to contact the insurers directly to declare my other (relatively minor) mods, they refused to insure me as the 'total mod count' was over the magic number of 6. Sky Insurance came to the rescue and managed to get me, my car and my mods fully covered for £522. Moral of the story is: It's cheaper (for me at least), to insure an unmodified Lambo Gallardo than it is to insure a modified 350Z.
pcw1982
I remember when I had about 18 months driving experience I was looking at old Skylines (forget which model, long time ago now!) at about £5k put the details into the insurance websites and the insurance came in more expensive! Couldn't believe it. Suddenly the £1,100 for my ford fiesta didn't look so bad!
