Weslington
Hi, my first post here and sadly it's a bit of a downer. Had my Zed for nearly a year now and have been loving it. Went out today and found that someone has driven into it! Thankfully they left their details but they are keen not to involve their insurance company and will pay for the repairs themselves as long as it isn't too much, otherwise they will go through their insurers. So, I would really appreciate some advice - would anyone know a ballpark figure to get this repaired and can anyone reccommend a good garage in the Surrey area who could take this on? Cheers, Wes

rtbiscuit
2nd hand bumper about £150, 2nd hand wing about another £150, and then about £250 to spray the wing and £300 to spray the bumper. But that's guesstimates.
rtbiscuit
I take that back prices range between £70 and £120 for the wing http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-350Z-2003-Front-Wing-With-Hole-R-h-/400448203433?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d3c92aaa9 front bumpers more like £200 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-350Z-PRE-FACELIFT-FRONT-BUMPER-GENUINE-NISSAN-PART-/281110952455?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item417384ba07

rtbiscuit
Depending on body shop I think the final bill all in will be between £700-£1000 Edited June 8, 2013 by rtbiscuit
Weslington
Thanks rtbiscuit, that's really useful. Any idea if Abbey Motorsport would are able to do this sort of work? Cars dues a service and I need to get the droplinks replaced so thought I could have everything done at the same time.
rtbiscuit
Bodywork as far as I know is not their thing, you also have Kaiser performance you way as well for mechanical work. Bodyshop wise I'm not sure what's in your area that I would recommend. Don't know the area well enough. My place in Suffolk would sort you out and give you a courtesy car as well. rtbiscuit
And the bodyshop I use also has a performance garage attached that does mechanical. They do all the work on all my cars.
Stutopia
There's a bumper for sale here, good price. I was looking before but thinking respray now. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/71969-oem-suspension-rear-arms-pre-facelift-front-bumper/
ZMANALEX
New bumper and wing required. If using genuine Nissan parts the cost of parts and paint and material will be circa: £700.00 Labour for panel and paint will be circa: £550.00 So £1250.00 + vat = £1500.00. As it was not your fault, why settle for second hand or after market poor fitting panels. Guess that it will be an insurance job. Sarah 350z
Your very lucky the guilty party left their contact details!! Welcome along
4RE Leather
Alex is spot on and why have 2nd hand parts just to apease someone else. The car will be off the road for a week so you need a hire car. ARC in Dorking Surrey will sort that out.
gsexr
http://www.cnledger.co.uk/ I can highly recommend this guy
RickyZ
I would recommend reporting it to your insurance as its a legal requirement to report any accident. It's easy to say you'll pay for damage but when it comes round to it they may change their mind and leave you high and dry
The Bounty Bar Kid
Also think about a hire car. Gone private before, never again. Insurance always now.
Weslington
Thanks for the advice everyone, this forum is awesome! I'm definitely going to aim to get all new parts and it does sound like it will have to be an insurance job. So far I have contacted Nick at CNLedger but will also get in touch with ARC. Will let you know how I get on...
Mopedmark
Glad I live in the midlands chaps, expensive down that Surrey area,You be careful getting genuine Nissan because if it works out to much you may have it written off my mate Kc350 had his roadster write off with not much more damage than that. You could get a really nice aftermarket front bumper a lot less than a genuine.Just a thought.Hope you get it sorted, decent person to leave there details though. Weslington
Phew, I have their insurance details now so hopefully this will get sorted relatively easily. I'm so thankful they left their details, good to know their are nice people still out there! Annoyingly my MOT and tax are due in the next couple of weeks, fingers crossed this gets sorted quickly... Weslington
Just thought I'd update this - my car is finally back from the garage! They gave me an Audi A5 2.00 tdi as a hire car which at first I thought was pretty cool, full of screens and tech the 350 just doesnt have but completely different matter after driving it (not helped by the fact it was an auto) - took ages to respond to the accelerator and went round corners like a boat! Glad to see the back of it. Anyway, the repair estimate was over £4k!! Not sure what the final bill was but I would have thought that should have been a write off?? I'm not sure what the exact list of repairs was but it included a wheel refurb, new tyre, new bumper and new wing. Maybe some other stuff too.
