VXR8 vs GT-R

I am going for a test drive in the VXR8 when it comes out in June/July. I will buy one, unless I have good info on when the new Nissan GT-R comes out.

Yep, I'll be saying goodbye to the Z soon... it's been fun but time to move on.

Anyone know anything about the GT-R? I hear 2007 but we're halfway through 07 and still nothing so I am thinking 2008 is more realistic...

GT-R are words which are not even allowed to be muttered in the design centres in Japan... it is that confidential that they will not even make social chat about it... so very little is know...only a chosen few in the UK offices have driven it..

"the Stig-type" sentences fly around here all the time but no one will give any facts...e.g "some say the it does not have wheels, but small nanotech jets spinning round the hub axles, all we know is that it will be called the GT-R" :p (we have to joke about it because it is that secret...)

... however Mr Carlos Goshn said 2nd half of 2007 so it will be this year, I have little doubt about it... and if you look at the 'ring' videos the level of camo is very low, so it is on the latest phases of development ( fine tuning so to speak)...

If you like 350Z and the R34skylines behaviour and handling you can expect this to be better than these two. And the power will be more than enough to be playing with the players...and I mean the porsche league...not the uprated ozzy carltons with 4 doors league... :boxing::p

Other than the fact both cars you mention have high power, I cannot put them in the same categories...GT-R is the one... patience is all that is needed...

I know its a vauxhall and it has four doors, but I want that six litre V8. There is no logic to it, I know its not as pretty as the Z, I know the resale values are crap, I know it drinks petrol faster than Johnny Vegas drinks Guinness.

But I still want one! I will wave as I pass you... B)

Save the huge hit then and get a Monaro VXR now. Second hand prices are on the floor. Dan's got one for sale. :teeth:

Fair point but I'm not bothered about the money TBH. Not that I'm rich!

I will wait until end of year anywayz - perhaps more GT-R news by then!

Can't even tempt you with a 500bhp Vauxhall approved supercharger conversion? ;)

Personally I don't think the GT-R will appear in the UK until 2009 :)

that's what they say on the Other Channel and they claim the info to be from sources very high in Nissan, how much of that is bullshit I wouldn't know though

I'm with you Stevie on this... don't know what it is, but I need to own a 6.0L V8 sooner rather than later...6.0L it's a monster :teeth:
