From Honda to Nissan with love - 370Z.

Recommended Posts

After much deliberation and saving I have finally got my 370Z.

I knew what I wanted and waited until the perfect one was availabel, Le Mans Blue and GT was a must.

I've moved from owning two Honda's in the last 6 years.

Plans are to track the car as often as I can and just enjoy ownership of what feels like a better, more expensive grown up toy.

Use will be kept to a minimum mainly due to the fact that I use the train to get to work, so it will simply be used as a weekend blast and for track.

Already booked to go to Spa and the Nurburgring on the 14th June :D .

And I don't want to insult anyone by boring you with loads of OEM 370Z pics, but you'll get the idea from these...

I bought the car from someone that was due to trade it back to Nissan, as you can imagine the trade in price was low, I gave him a bit more than trade and I got a car a bit cheaper than market value.

Good deal for both involved.

21334 thousand miles.

Just had its P3 service a week before.

Wonderful car by all accounts.

..what's your thoughts so far on the 370z

After getting used to the gearbox, which feels a tad sloppy compared to previous box's in my Honda's, it's great.

Not having to redline the engine to get a perfect shift or stay in the power band is also strange.

That said the usable, accessible power is great. Also I find the car very stiff and responsive at medium speeds, which is great and gives confidence when pressing on. The grip is good too, turns in well, without any hint of understeer, with a progressive, hint of oversteer when you get on the power.

The cabin is bright and spacious, with lots of comforts.

Too many buttons in the steering wheel for my liking though, I'll be honest.

The synchro rev match gearbox makes me lazy but gets it perfect every time. I can imagine its great on infield tracks mind you.

Seats are good, offer good support for OEM seats. I may look at some Brides though.

Tyres are loud, but give good grip, REO50's.

Brake pedal could do with firming up a rad too, hopefully some lines and fluid will help sure that up a bit.

So far, very very pleased with it :) .

S2000 was vicous, no warning and bang, spits you out.

I had a memorable incident at the top of Eau Rouge in my S2000 at a track day at Spa one year.

Other than that, very good yes  .
