greasemonkey1234
Hi All, I was driving at the weekend, and all of a sudden my oil pressure shot passed the max reading, which if a genuine pressure reading would have meant the engine would have gone pop! The car is running fine apart from the gauge having gone bonkers. I figure its either an earthing issue or some detioration of the electrical connection in the gauge. I'm not sure what the main problem is but was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem? Cheers, Al
a2orry
could be a faulty oil pressure sender .if the oil pressure gets way to high i would assume it might blow the filter can off of its mounting plate.
ZMANALEX
Sounds like an oil pressure sensor issue. New and preowned oil pressure sensor switches are in stock and good to go same/next day if required. Just drop me a pm if I can help you further with this mate. Alex.
greasemonkey1234
Thanks for your help guys! Getting the multimeter on the sensor it appears to be reading fine, so I'm thinking it maybe an earthing issue somewhere? Agree that if the oil pressure was genuinely that high or had gone that high then the engine would have stalled and hoses would have popped off lol. ZMANALEX
If you disconnect the wire to the switch and earth it and the gauge goes off the scale then your issue will more than likely be the sender switch. Alex.
