Carl350z
Hi everyone I'm new to the forum and also to the zed car! Not bought one yet... I have a budget of 6kish. What sort of thing is in budget ? Do the older ones have brembos ? Is the blue more money ? Manual or auto (I'm thinking manual) Please humour me whe on driving normally what is the fuel consumption like. ? Thanks Carl
The Bounty Bar Kid
04 plate for that kinda money. All UK spec had brembos. Blue might have a small premium. Manual wins! MPG - Town ~ 18mpg, Motorway - 30mpg
aidan
6K should get you an early UK car - in good nick, with Brembos / manual. I've not had mine long - but normal driving I'm getting around 26mpg. You'll get 30mpg on longer trips. And the blue is faster so is worth more.....but maybe I am biased.

un1eash
I use to do alot of town driving and only get 11mpg. Try and look for a GT spec with Rays alloys (werent standard on early cars) Edited May 15, 2013 by un1eash

bamdc2
04 model for £6k!! Dont say that, I picked mine up for just under £8k last March!! tbh it has GT pack with only 42k on clock and not a dink in sight. GT and manual FTW!!! I wanted to get one in blue but they look better in pictures than real life (no offence, lovely colour but not my favourite ). There is a really good buyers guide on here so take a look. Loads of info. Edited May 15, 2013 by bamdc2

Carl350z
Well firstly thank you for the help and the many welcome messages ! I am in Lincoln. The zed you have forsale looks perfect. There is one 10 mins from me that is 03 JDM 55k on the clock it was in eBay at £5000 so I think he would take £4750 happily. So the one in the link is more money with more miles ! Are the uk cars worth that much more ?

Are the uk cars worth that much more ? Depends on the JDM version. Some are not to the same UK spec, some are better. Some don't have the standard weather proofing and if they didn't have it when they were imported can be rusty. Plus, insurance companies are renound for charging more for Imports. So you pay more fort he UK spec but then less for insurance every year.

To be honest it wasn't the easiest buy, and i took a risk buying it. The sales guy didn't even come out with me to look at the car, it was like here's the keys help yourself. not unpleasant sale just i knew more about the car than he did. But all the paperwork was there HPI, MOT history, and a load of receipts etc. So far i'm happy.
