Beavis Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 All three warning lights show up when brake pedal is pressed. New pads fitted all round and brake fluid is on maximum level. Nissan didn't seem to understand the problem, the checked the brakes, re-bled the system and checked fluid levels and could not find the fault. Over the years the car has had several brake fluid changes done by Nissan. Similar to this and have done what was suggested but no difference. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/68472-brake-warning-light-esp-light-and-vehicle-skidslip-light-on/page__hl__%2Bslip+%2Blight Quote
Beavis Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 Oh and I can get it to throw the lights up by the car standing stationary and just pressing the brake pedal. Quote
Gudzy Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I have the same problem at the moment, mine has been linked to the pressure sensor on the abs pump. Get it plugged into consult to read what the error is. Quote
Gudzy Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Oh and I can get it to throw the lights up by the car standing stationary and just pressing the brake pedal. Same as mine, can press very lightly and it won't appear but with any kind of pressure they all light up. Quote

To be fair the mechanic did indicate that it was possibly the pressure sensor. Is this a replaceable part? Quote
Gudzy Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Zmanalex had one good to go same/ next day! Nissan wanted £1400 for a complete ABS pump but there are some available from eBay for quite a lot less. I just got the pressure sensor from Zmanalex but I've still got to fit it yet. Quote
Sly@Kaizer Motor Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 If pressure sensor is damaged or malfunctioning, you need to replace ESP/ABS actuator (pressure sensor it built in) regarding the service manual. Quote
Sly@Kaizer Motor Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Gudzy, I didn't know if the sensor available from Alex thanks. (Will give him a call next time I have this problem.) Let us know if you have success with replacing it. Quote
ZMANALEX Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 ABS pressure sensors are in stock and good to go same/next day. No requirement to replace the ABS actuator unless faulty. Dave, check that the float and filter are positioned correctly within the brake fluid reservoir and that the fluid is definately on MAX. Alex Quote

Alex Float and filter seem fine Alex but if anything the fluid level is a bit above the maximum level. Quote
Beavis Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 Fixed! Ended up been the connector to the brake light stop switch coming adrift slightly causing total brake light failure yesterday in Wales! This thread also helped me to sort this http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/43071-abs-pressure-sensor-c1142/ Quote
Sly@Kaizer Motor Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I'm glad you got it sorted without spending money on it, thanks for the update Quote
ChrisS Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Glad it's sorted. I thought it might make you put it up for auction. It has now done over 20 K after all. Quote
