evilscorp
Well after thinking I had got away with a steal Admiral have got back 10 days later and say they cant insure me Ive had two phone conversations confirming everything was ok and covered and also sent an email now someone has said no! The reason? they do not insure more than 5 modifications , no where does it state this, also got fob'ed off when asking to speak to a manager so emais have been sent to the complaints department. Going to phone a proper insurer tomorrow, SKY (if they are open). Also plan to try and claw back some money from Admiral because they have let me drive around since april last year with more than 5 mods, so by their words I was uninsured! Fingers crossed I have the money to afford the unplanned years insurance costs
jumping350
im currently on hold to them now, the douchebags!!! switching policy over to subaru then to temp insure every now and then the zed, till its back on the road next year. Manged to get my quote down for subaru and said all is fine was well chuffed and thought that is a good price they done well! Turns out thats the quote for my zed and that will be insured tommorow not my subaru even though i gave the reg for the scobby 4 times and didnt mention the zed even once except for temp insurance. Ive been on hold for ages is anyone there now or am on hold for no reason at this time???? Hope your gets sorted mate try the compare sights and go from there its a nightmare..im sure they do things like this on purpose to trip you up ...how hard is it we want this, this is what we said, we will pay you so why is it all messed up now!!!!! if i hear that stupid admiral tune anymore Edited May 10, 2013 by jumping350
ATTAK Z
They have call centres in Canada (good), Wales (also good), and Asia (absolutely Cr@p) ... dependant upon what you want or what time you phone you'll get one or the other ... DO NOT ACCEPT ADVICE FROM THE ASIAN CALL CENTRE ... THEY WILL GET YOUR DETAILS WRONG I once had a deal with them for three cars (including the Zed) and got so fed up with mistakes whilst trying to vary the cover that I cancelled the policy come renewal time. Not because their quote wasn't good, but because they are incapable of giving good customer service when you want to change something. Even cancelling the policy was difficult, time consuming and costly !!! Rant over
Vlad
Try brentacre mate, they are pretty good, especially with mods! They dont charge extra for any mods apart from big power ones... so you might pay few quid for your supercharger, but everything else should be free
jumping350
i got an england call centre earlier and they messed it up so not looking promising for me ive been on hold for half of hollyoaks lol I swear if i get an asian call centre after all of this if my call is so important to you why didnt you answer it half an hour ago so now I have a zed and a scooby outside and I dont know which one is actually insured and i need to go to the shops Edited May 10, 2013 by jumping350

JetSet
I've dealt with their call centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia and the guy I dealt with was well keyed up and went through everything step by step . Guy had an annoying habit of calling my car a 350 Zee though . Pete

evilscorp
Had a nice chat with Sky and Adrian Flux, both quotes were similar. Much more competent with insuring modifications (and speaking english ) very impressed when the rep from Sky asked what supercharger it was and its cost. Going to wait till I've contacted a few more company's next week and had a response from Admiral (hopefully with some money). but its looking good for having the car on the road for Stirling next weekend
The Chubby Ninja
hopefully you`ll get it all ok for stirling. im with admiral at the moment so im pretty buggered aswel once the chargers fitted. think il give sky a phone sometime soon to see what im going to be paying. that's unlucky about admiral as I thought I was going to get it for free too
Yampiedog
I have no mods on mine but just got a multi car quote for the 350, MG ZS and Jeep Grand Cherokee all for well under £
Tomhappyapril
Admiral will quite easily insure bolt on mods eg induction , exhaust even a body kit . but if your thinking of track style up grades or huge power gains you need insurance else where.... they will only insure up too 5 mods because there not a mods specialist

spursmaddave
I had spacers, exhaust, hfcs, pop charger, uprev & plenum spacer as well as seperate ice cover all for well under £
evilscorp
Bit of a revival, but just to clear things up, no where in writing on your documents does it say 5 mods but I was given a letter stating that they only insure up to 5 mods. I had 3 foreign call centre staff frig my policy supposedly, most staff are not trained correctly, something I was also told would be done to the staff that I had dealings with. If the mod does not show up in writing on your documents you can forget it!
gsexr
They probably only do up to 5 mods because they cant type more than that on the paperwork due to the size of the box.......lol
Ekona
If the mod does not show up in writing on your documents you can forget it! I consider that to be the case with all insurance companies.
JetSet
Just had our multi car insurance renewal through. Difficult to understand why mine is £400, yet Caroline's is an eye watering £768. I know that roadsters are more expensive to insure , but almost twice as much? We both have zero points and more than 10 years NCB and do 3k a year. Ekona
Easier to slash a roof costing thousands on a ragtop than a tintop. Also more likely to get left with the roof down and nicked, vandalised etc.

Also more likely to get left with the roof down and nicked, vandalised etc. I understand that but last year I paid £480, Caroline £500. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has had a huge price hike insuring their roadster recently. Anyway, Sky have come up with a sub £400 quote Pete
