You'd think, but 2 years on and off aggressive fertility drugs and then 2 bouts of IVF can really kill it sometimes +1, we weren't so lucky but I'm thrilled for you two, sorry four!!! Leeroy
I've been a casual visitor here since selling my Zed, but I just noticed you post rtbiscuit - massive congrats on your news. I know what it's like to be waiting for that baby train to arrive, so I know you must both be over the moon now that it finally turned up, good luck with everything I can heartily recomend an E39 M5 for baby chaufering duties

Leeroy
The first few weeks are crazy but you'll get into the swing of it after a week or two. I recommend joining an NCT group. It's a bit weird being back in an 'educational' environment again and you don't actually 'learn' much but the girls all get together regularly after the babies are born which is good for mum's sanity. Our group are a good bunch and we meet-up every few saturdays in a local pub which usually ends up as a day of drinking for the blokes
rtbiscuit
All signed up with an nct group, but not sure we need it now as it looks almost certain that Lucy will have a C-section. Because of her heart murmur, krohns and the fact its twins. We, also been given a deadline of 25 Oct. So if they haven't turned up by then, the hospital will take them out then. rtbiscuit
Its anti natal group. Not sure what nct stands for
Leeroy
We had a girl who was having a C-Section in our group, maybe she found that out halfway through. Anyways, they teach post natal stuff too like nappy changing, using slings etc so I'd still strongly recommend it - the biggest selling point is for the mum's to create a network to socialise with baby

Ekona
HOW MUCH
Leeroy
Yeah, it isn't cheap. Basically you pay for friends Actually, we quite enjoyed the classes and met some good friends. One just bought a Caterham in fact
rtbiscuit
HOW MUCH works out about £20 a session. You think that's bad we've just ordered our pram/pushchair/cots/car seats travel thing. Sh1t the bed I could have bought a car. http://www.kiddisave.co.uk/store/product/17804/Bugaboo-Donkey-Travel-System-Package-4-Black-Sand-2012/ normal price nearly £1600. Then there's all the other stuff and for twins you basically double everything cost wise. I've been waking up in cold sweats, panic attacks you can understand why the xkr has to go. thankfully those prams hold their price better than the classic car market
Ekona
F*ck it, I'm never having kids. No spawn is worth that kind of cash, not even mine.
rtbiscuit
its alright if you have 1 at a time, loads of pram options all of which are a fraction of the cost. as soon as you use the word twins everything goes crazy. we had a meeting with the consultant yesterday, found out that becuase its twins we end up with 8 people in the room. 2 midwifes, 2 peadeotricians, 2 doctors, and then us, and i'm sure there is possibly 2 others. so at least i won't be lonely while lucy is screaming absenities at me. as for costs, all our baby furniture we were lucky with as my brother in law gave us their stuff from when they had twins, all i had to do was invest the time in cleaning them up and fixing them; which was easy. other stuff we're getting 2nd off ebay, and spreading the cost over the months. just got new mattresses for the cots at £150 each i will also be making lots of stuff for them. i shall build the high chairs and moses cot rockers, as well as manufacture the curtains etc. all helps to keep costs down and its stuff i like to do. nice to have some mini projects, and also like the idea that my kids will have stuff i've crafted for them. also helps i have access to big workshops and textile labs
