evilscorp
Phoned up to add all my new mods stating and repeating everything. The guy spoke good English noted them all down and said ok thank you, they will be valid from tomorrow...... Good bye, have a nice day no mention of any charge as he cant fit anymore than 5 on the paper copy so no point sending out a new one but they have been all noted online and records taken. i.e. no price increase lol. I do expect it will go up in Aug when my renewal comes through. but for the now. ( yes I know they are not covered like for like but will address this maybe in Aug by swapping to a specialist insurer. Also taxed the car for 6 months as I probably wont drive it Nov on wards. £500 quid set aside, £155 spent.... NO ONE SELL ANYTHING NICE!

Ricey
Bet my left bollock that call will get 'lost' when it comes to claim time. I'd be getting a DSAR request in now for the sake of a tenner.
S1 HNK
I wouldn't risk that as its a blatant error.

Ricey
Whats a dsar? Data Subject Access Request. Your right as a Data Subject is for all call recordings, system notes, documents, letters, hand written notes, emails to be retained and available to give to you in a durable medium within 40 days subject to a maximum of £10 fee. Well pisses off companies when you ask for one.
evilscorp
Well signed up for the online documents and it only lists 5 of my mods not the rest so probably wise to ask for a DSAR (thanks Ricey ) Whats the best way of asking for it? via email I presume? evilscorp
Dear Sir, I am writing to request a Data Subject Access Request for the phone call I made to yourself on Tuesday 30th April 2013 at ****pm. I phoned to update my policy with modifications and spoke to your representative ******. The conversation went well and all my modifications were approved but I was told that the paper copy of my policy cannot show more than 5 modifications, which is less than the amount I have given today and on previous occasions. I was told that a record has been kept and stored of all my modifications online/in your data base. I thought it might be a good idea to sign up to your online documentation to save on paper and allow myself easier access but unfortunately the online copy only shows the first 5 modifications, I would like to keep my records up to date and have confirmation of the conversation that took place with ***** on 30th April 2013 detailing all the modifications on my car. Thank you for your help with this matter.

Ekona
In writing. In writing. In writing. Everything. Don't give up until you get it. We had to do the same with Admiral and the PPP on the Impreza. Frustrating, but ultimately worth doing to cover your own arse.

jollyranchers
I've always wondered if you could record your own insurance phone calls which if you need to in the event of a dispute can produce the recording ? They always say to you calls may be recorded for training purposes , what's stopping you recording your own of the conversation? So if you had a crash and were in dispute you have the conversation to hand ?

They always say to you calls may be recorded for training purposes , what's stopping you recording your own of the conversation? So if you had a crash and were in dispute you have the conversation to hand ? Nothing stopping you at all. You can record any conversation you like, as long as it's for your own uses. If I had an accident these days, the first thing I would do is whip out the old JesusPhone and set the video to record.
