adam1942
So I'm getting a whistling noise. Only when the following conditions are met; the car has to be moving. the car has to be revved between 2000-4500rpm (any higher and it could be the car drowning the noise out!) the clutch can be engaged or disengaged it makes no difference. the car can be in gear or out of gear it also makes no difference. the noise only lasts a few minutes My belts are currently squeaking a little in the cold mornings for a few minutes. The only thing I can think of is that these are squealing and when I rev they move and squeal. Either that or change the diff oil and see if it makes any difference? Anyone any ideas?? adam1942
Another noise has started folks. When clutching out when selecting first I can hear a metallic clink a few times.. When I rev the even if the clutch is in or out the noise happens when cold so I assume its not the diff and I'm starting to think the gearbox or the clutch... I've tested to make sure its not slipping by keeping the handbrake on and without revving clutching out and it seems to bite fine with no slipping.. So I think its coming from the gearbox? Anyone any ideas? Is there an oil indicator level on the gearbox or anything? I've changed the belts and oil on the engine and even injectors would I be able to complete the gearbox oil change? It seems very simple! Any guidence on the noise/gearbox oil change would be great!
