Nissan 350z Warranty. Is it really worth having?

Have noticed on the forum the continuing saga all of us seem to have with dealership's and getting problems put right under warranty. From what I can see, it is worthless. You might as well put things right yourself (if you are technically able) or take it to a local garage who you may have a good relationship with. What does everyone think?

In general all manufacturers are about the same and its still the best Warranty you can get. It helps if you have a good relationship with the dealer because they know how to present things to the manufacturer to make a succesfull Warranty claim. We have had hundreds of jobs done under Warranty and to be fair if it's a genuine thing they will pay up. It's just when you get into the "grey areas" that they will do their utmost to weasel out of paying, just like any Insurance Company does ;)

Be aware that if you let your local garage mess about with your car and they don't use genuine parts your manufacturers Warranty is going to be invalidated.

Up to now I have had only one warranty claim, which was dealt with no problems although it would appear I will taking them on with the 'blistering' wheel problem soon, as I have noticed it is just starting. I have to say that i'm not that impressed with how the service department come over and they leave a lot to be desired, coming from BMW's, who, I have to say have been very good when it comes to warranty claims in my experience.

You may have seen my posting on another thread regarding clutch/gearbox issues. I would have to have spent out £2k plus and even then it would have not fixed the problem and Nissan may only/possibly cough up. Personally, I think it is very poor compared with other manufacturers warranty's.
