stuarty
Not for long, i'm on a secret mission! Hopefully to get a 370 Either a 350 GT 313 or a 370Z! I thought about a Z4 M coupe next, but it's just a cracking engine on some wheels. Also i've got a brand new 520D M sport as a loaner for the next week. It's absolutely fully loaded, but at he end of the day it's still a rep mobile. Leather seats are a different class though! The Bounty Bar Kid
My parents used to own a Mini Cooper. Took it into BMW Croydon, when it was on the Brighton Road as the gearbox (tiptronic-auto) wouldn't select any gears. Got told it had to be replaced. £5000 please. Car was only 4 years old. My dad was telling his mate about it, who works in the car trade. He got on the phone to the dealership. Price now £2500. Dad's mate and my dad still not happy. Phone call to BMW head office and it turns out that the gearbox was being supplied free of charge to the dealership as gearboxes shouldn't go wrong in that short a time period. All we should have paid was £800 labour. We ended up paying £400 for labour. Other things they did too before that but none as big as this. That's shocking! How many folk would just accept it and pay up? They now have a BMW 1 series but would never use the Croydon one again. It's moved but I don't know if its the same people. Arran works for them! Now we use the dealership near Redhill. They give a great service!

I'm suprised you haven't had the "Joy" of visting a BMW main dealer despite having owned a few....My car goes now where near a BMW main dealer, I would say the worst thing about my 335 is the fact it has wears a BMW badge .
stuarty
Ok, so i finally got my car back today. It only took 2 weeks to paint the bumper, replace 2 roof clips and adjust the tracking!!! Guess what the bumpers fine, the roof clips are fitted and the bloody tracking is adjusted but my steering wheel is sittin off center again but in the opposite direction!!!!!!!! Ive counted that i have now travelled the 40 mile round trip 7 times and i'll need to go back again next week! Ekona
Just take the car somewhere else for a proper alignment. It'll be better than generic BMW settings too.

I was thinking about it but most places set everything up the same! At least i know i wont shred the 4 brand new bridgestone runflats that they fitted. I'll give them one more chance and i'm asking for an extra years warrenty or free service for my hastle! Ekona
Just take the car somewhere else for a proper alignment. It'll be better than generic BMW settings too. I was thinking about it but most places set everything up the same! What? No they don't, that's rubbish. Take it to a specialist (pref someone who knows about Z4s, ask the owners club) and get it done to how you like it. The only type of car I'd have a generic 'get it back within the specs' alignment on is a shitbox used for the daily grind. Sometimes you just need to bite the bullet, accept that you're never going to get decent service from a place, and take your money elsewhere. If they can't get an alignment correct, do you really want them servicing it?
