Sam Mcgoo
The keys have to be 'paired' with the car. There is a procedure on here if you have a search. Does it have any working keys?

MidnightRacer
Pairing is only for the central locking. it might need to be programmed at the dealer or could even be missing the chip.... Keys and programming at dealers is expensive. If its a UK car I'd probably be bartering for a few hundred off the price or at very worst have them get it sorted. If its an import then getting keys sorted is even worse!

Sly@Kaizer Motor
Key coding is £20 by us if you are close enought to Kent otherwise find a local Nissan specialist or your Dealer.
