ph 7
So tonight I got back from Derby clutching the latest purchase, after a spot of grub I couldn't resist offering the lights up to see how they look. Untitled by p_h_7, on Flickr Untitled by p_h_7, on Flickr They have had the wife seal of approval and I must say I'm quite taken with them. Now all I need to is figure how to join cables to sockets Untitled by p_h_7, on Flickr
KyleR
Weird, the depo ones I had before buying OEM plugged directly into the bulb socket.
ph 7
yes, it looks like I might have to be creative in creating another connector...suggestions on a postcard please

ph 7
So more goodies courtesy of mattross1313 Firstly the neo chrome oil cap and now comes a decision, badge on or badge off as it isn't stuck down yet. Cap off: gearknob and oil cap by p_h_7, on Flickr Cap on: gearknob and oil cap by p_h_7, on Flickr Currently leaning towards on...but not certain. Might give it a week without. Secondly Mattross used his impressive salesman skills to up sell a matching gearknob....well done that man. gearknob and oil cap by p_h_7, on Flickr gearknob and oil cap by p_h_7, on Flickr Got to say I love the feel of this knob in my hand (insert fnur fnur, chortles and giggles appropriately) The danger of all of this is that I have now started something under the bonnet. I may actually have to suit up and clean under there. Mopedmark, do you have a spare hazmat?
nath8642
When you got the paint job did you get the whole car done? Sorry if you have mentioned it i must have missed it
ph 7
When you got the paint job did you get the whole car done? Sorry if you have mentioned it i must have missed it Nope I had the nismo bumper and skirts sprayed from primer and then a blend across the bonnet and the front wings. So it was almost like the entire front of the car had been resprayed as my bonnet was pretty much treated to a rub down and respray as my stonechips vanished entirely. Andy at parkside autos did a steller job which is why I will be taking it to him (unfortunately after lakez) for the rear rust on my arches to be dealt with and respray the rear and add the spats, oh and spray the roof gloss black. Now that my ankle is better I can actually start to get things in order. In other news I have finally got round to ordering my connectors for the lights so they should be on for lakez. Yay! nath8642
Ahh right was going to say i noticed the rust and if you did have the full spray job i was going to ask how it is holding up my wheel arch has began to rust grrrr so annoying looks good anyway can't wait to see the rest
ph 7
All I would say is get it treated sooner than later, when I look at pictures of when I first had the car to now the difference is substantial.
ph 7
They are alive!!!! I have three new items coming in, one boring, one mechanical replacement and one more interesting for the rear before to do at the same time I add the spats and respray the rear I think the only thing I have left to do before lakez is to give her a clean and get my replacement rear tyres on as I think they are now marginal considering the amount of miles this weekend will bring Edited June 24, 2014 by ph 7

ph 7
Goodies time... Firstly my Powerflow exhaust decided to split the back box open post Wales, and it has been causing distress to me, my neighbours and all of the cats in a 5 mile radius. So yesterday the postie bought carefully wrapped exhaust bits for me. Thanks to Grundy000 who had this unwanted exhaust. This will tide me over for Lakez at least. It is being fitted as I type this so should hear how it compares to the Powerflow later today but I'm guessing it will be a bit closer to stock than what I'm used to. I started to polish it in the garden but got bored, I have removed a lot of the tarnish but it is a right ball ache by hand. This is pre polish, I didn't bother after photos as it got dark Untitled by p_h_7, on Flickr Untitled by p_h_7, on Flickr Yes, I know my slabs need re-laying but they are due to be ripped up to go under the benches in the background! Then onto my next item....lets all play a game of guess the spoiler, 5 Scott Mills points to the first to get it right. I have balanced it on top of the car to see what it will look like when I have it fitted. This will be at the same time I put the spats and respray the rear of the car. I'm 90% certain I will remove the stock spoiler when I do it, I think it will look cleaner

ph 7
ding ding ding, we have a winner. It will look good once it is prepped and sprayed. Can't decide whether to spray it gloss black like the roof will be or colour code and stick azure....decisions decisions. Also I need to decide how much I'm going to de-badge. The rear Nissan will be going and represents the last Nissan badge left on the car, it is a question of if I take off the 350z emblem....not sure yet
14N
Winner winner chicken dinner My opinion, for what it's worth... Azure spoiler and total de-badge. Leaving the 350z on one side would look unbalanced.
ph 7
My ocd about symmetry will probably kick in so I think you are right. Also I think there is a risk that the spoiler will look stuck on if it is a different colour and I do want it to look like part of the bodykit. I'm not keen on the angle of the nismo spoiler from the side which is why I didn't match one to the nismo kit. On the plus side I get to sell the badges and return a miniscule amount compared to the cost of the works!
ph 7
So the exhaust was popped on today ready for lakez It is a little quieter now, and is defo quieter than what I was used to but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. My old unit had hoes in the top, the bottom and the right hand tailpipe could be removed from the box by a 5 year old. Typically the tarnished areas I worked on are covered up by the bumper What I will be doing to the exhaust though, will be to cut off the existing tailpipes and weld my old units back onto it. I prefer the look of them and they are absolutely fine and have been cut off the now scrap unit. onto the ever growing list it goes... Then gave it a clean ready for lakez, why is it that car parks always make a car look better?
ph 7
Well it is probably about time I updated the thread, not a great deal has changed and I have been working (and socialising) like an idiot for about 9 months which has killed some of my spare time. So in July I claimed my P3 service raffle item from Walez and went to Atkin Motor Engineers and enjoyed a couple of days in the north Yorkshire moors. Staying at the kp in Pocklington just south of Atkin Motor Engineers, would recommend. http://www.kpclub.co.uk/ IMG_8690 by p_h_7, on Flickr IMG_8689 by p_h_7, on Flickr IMG_8707 by p_h_7, on Flickr IMG_8708 by p_h_7, on Flickr Couple of piccys of their car park at night kp yorkshire by p_h_7, on Flickr kp yorkshire by p_h_7, on Flickr kp yorkshire by p_h_7, on Flickr Plenty more of those on my flickr page, I must say that I didn't know about the car park lighting until after the meal...I was quick to move the car. When we arrived the following morning, the courtesy car we received by Chris and the team was great and was perfect for the trip into Whitby. The engine was superb for such a tiny cc. The fish and chips from the magpie were equally stunning. IMG_8758 IMG_8757 Honestly I can whole heartedly recommend Atkin Motor Engineers, the service they provided was stunning, including telling me of some future issues for the car in hand video. So I had to replace a lower track control arm as the bush was knackered and a sidelight bulb before MOT but that was all. More to follow later...
Cal
I want to hate your rear lights, but they suit your car! Definitely azure spoiler and lose the oem one. For a Celica part it looks great on a Z! Edited March 26, 2015 by Cal

ph 7
I want to hate your rear lights, but they suit your car! Definitely azure spoiler and lose the oem one. For a Celica part it looks great on a Z! I felt the same about aftermarket as well, until I had them on the car. The thing I'm looking forward to is once the spats are on and the spoiler is fitted then the car will be much more angular and suit the lights even more. Really pleased with how the spoiler marries up with the new lines of the lights. The clutch going put paid to my spray fund though. For the moment at least.
