Scott TMN
Had another few little purchased I couldn't resist! -Evo R burnt titanium gear knob. -Pioneer AVH-X1500DVD Also come end of next week should have some carbon fiver wing mirror covers from Tarmac. Not to stop buying things and get some bits fitted!
GMballistic
^^ Nice head unit. Not dissimilar to my own Pioneer unit. Not sure if you're fitting it yourself or having an audio specialist do it but make sure you get them to earth the handbrake lead so that you can have DVD's playing on the move. Much better for your passenger then on long journeys as they can watch a film while you eat the miles away in the Zed.
Scott TMN
cheers, we obviously have good taste in head units im going to give it a go myself, although wires are not my forte lol. cheers ill definitely have to look into that! GMballistic
From TalkAudio.uk; Run the green wire to a bare bit of clean metal and self tap it in, job done..... Apparantly that's all you need to do to get it to play DVD's on the move. It is illegal so up to you whether you decide to do it or not but obviously chances of you getting caught are slim. My audio specialist did it for me when I had my head unit fitted by them as I wanted to be able to play DVD's on the move so that the Mrs had something to watch when we drove long distance. What's the point of having a DVD player in the car otherwise?! Not exactly at the age where I'm going to park up in McDonalds and watch a film or something. Scott TMN
cheers for that, i may aswell do that! although to be fair ill probably never use that feature, the dvd player is more of a bi product for me aha

Play CD's or listen to the radio daily but if I do go on a long trip it is nice to know I have the option to put a DVD on and shut the Mrs up. Scott TMN
^^ Nice & simple mod but should help stop any tyre rubbing. And I know tell me about it! new tyres probably next month, and then springs and wheels for march time (trying to hold off putting them on in the gritty weather) Edited January 12, 2014 by Scott_f91
lolzz
Arches rolled today!! Nice!Did you maybe protect the paint in any way afterwards to prevent rust? That's the only thing keeping me away from doing the arches myself : S
Scott TMN
Well during the rolling I kept a heatgun on the arches to stop the paint cracking. And with regards to water sitting in the inner arch bit that was rolled, if im honest I struggle to see it making much difference. At standard the lip is say horizontal, and before i started I ran my hand over it getting all the mud and gunk out of it, a lot came out. This highlighted to me that gunk does sit in there anyway. The lip isnt rolled right up on itself, its just flicked the sharp edge up a bit really, so in my mind at least I dont think I have made it any/much worse. especially after finding what was already in there! And I tend to worry usually with things like that get it done
lolzz
You're probably right. I also don't have a plan to roll them all the way up, so I hope this helps the paint not to stretch too much and crack. Will do
Scott TMN
Plenty of heat and just go gradually and your fine!
Scott TMN
I tried, but couldn't resist the offer Tarmac had in recently on the Carbon Fiber wing mirror covers Fitted and a night time frosty shot In addition to this some interior mods finally took place! -Pioneer AVH-X15000DVD -Evo R Burnt Titanium Gear knob -wrapped centre console (matt grey to match exterior wrap) -gaitor bezel and near triple guages carbon wrapped. -Alacantra Gear Gaitor with grey stitching So with the help of a few friends, Jak and Steve, it all begin with ripping it all out And everything separated asking to be wrapped Started off with the gear gaiter bezel, to my surprise this is actually metal and not plastic! Pressed in with the wrap anyways The triple gauge pods were plastic welded in, so Jak took his soldering iron to them to get them separated Then made the mistake of painting it all first. Thinking behind this was it would help with the vinyls adhesion on the rubbery dimpled surface. This tactic did not work atall and has in fact resulted in some bits I'm not quite happy with. Getting there Next was just to get it all in. Before After And a nighttime shot Few little bits I'll revisit just to tidy up the odd bit of wrap, but overall very eased indeed Thanks again to Steve and Jak for their time and help. Defiantly appreciate Jak swinging by after work to finish it all up

Scott TMN
Thanks a lot guys Yeah wanted to keep the CF wrap down to a minimum, think it finishes off the bezel and gauge pods really well against the grey and parello, ironically that was probably a feature i was most excited about think its so easy to make headunits stick out in comparison with the rest of the car! next on the list is to get my side skirts on (need tweeking) tyres bought, and springs fitted
Scott TMN
So today was a good day! Went and paid my mate Grant a visit where we fitted my new eibach springs, and put in my GTR midpipe so happy with the result! Obviously before I just had the R35 GTR backbox fitted onto my standard system, although I loved it, it made a sweet sounding note under acceleration but lacked the 'Bark'. So I thought I would remove the midpipe silencer, and then I just thought why not remove the entire midpipe and replace with the 3" GTR silencer-less pipe I had leftover laying around. Making it GTR upto the Y pipe. So after some fiddling we removed it and Grant set about re-introducing the Backbox with its former partner with some welding. A quick shot of the Z up in the air with my mate Jaks arches ready to be rolled and flared. With not too much hassle it was all back together asking for a quick video. Obviously as you know video never seems to do it justice but here you go anyways Before: (GTR Backbox only) After: (GTR backbox and Midpipe) Very happy with this indeed, just what I was after and still no drone when cruising along the motorway. 8-) After flying through the day using the wings of success, we moved onto fitting the springs. I shall get a daylight 'After' picture tomorrow of the springs.. Edited March 23, 2014 by Scott_f91
