Scott TMN
Small update, but nothing exciting unfortunately. With the MOT nearing I had to sort out my tyre situation. Standard tyre sizes for now but dropped a profile. So currently now running: 225/40/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 (front) 245/40/18 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 (rear) Nice thought I finally have some decent rubber now Also car went through the MOT with no advisories So all ready for the GTR exhaust now (should have an update on that tomorrow) Also last Saturday tried test fitting my skirts. Unfortunatly didn't get any pics but but to do more more drilling anyways. So here's a picture of the new clearance on my drive with the front tyres on, I liked it
Scott TMN
*Update* GTR exhaust is finally on! Came off a 2010 R35 GTR. How it started life with me Next I removed the outlet pipes, with these on it was wider than the car! Also cleaned the tips up, they are all removable with a clamp so easy to whip off in the future for a good clean. Did try burning the tips but surprisingly they are only chrome plated so they were having none of it.. Before (left) after (right) With doing all I can do now I headed up to see a mate of mine, grant at GCFabrications to work his magic. He did some Welding.. Was a bit more involved than initially thought but nothing he couldn't handle. Visually, here is before Then GTR exhaust in place, with the GTR 5" tips And then we decided this would be a good opportunity for a bumper tuck, to show off the backbox a bit Very pleased with this, thinks it makes a bit more of a feature of the exhaust now! And a quick one in the petrol station on the way home To add that finishing touch we also polished the backbox up and spraye the pipes with a heat resistant satin black. I think the contrast looks good, very happy with the result! But anyways, the important bit, the sound... A quick before (as we all know a nice note from stock, just a bit quiet) http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/z413/scott_f91/9D4CE78A-BBAB-4320-B60C-15412EC36DEC-1652-00000259347BB2DC_zpse2bef693.mp4 And after. Excuse the smoke... Lol http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/z413/scott_f91/AEF733CE-810E-4DA6-8000-B935537F7747-1652-0000025946211C78_zpscd0ca8be.mp4 Obviously phone mic and speakers dot do it justice. Much louder than oem and much more evident, with a sweet spot between 3-4k. Didn't want it too loud so left the midpipe silencer in for now. However this is dead silent on the motorway with absolutely no drone whatsoever! Very chuffed with the result and again a massive thanks to grant for all his help! Will hopefully try and get some more pictures and videos soon!

Jp606
Sounds really good, those exhaust tips are massive. Shows how big the GTR is when you say the exhaust itself is wider than the Z, and 4 of those tips don't look that big on the back of it! Scott TMN
Nice one, Scott... Thanks mate Sounds really good, those exhaust tips are massive. Shows how big the GTR is when you say the exhaust itself is wider than the Z, and 4 of those tips don't look that big on the back of it! Cheers, as I say I don't think that video does it justice. Yeah really does go to show how big the GTR is it, I was surprised. A few mates of mine were like, put all 4 tips on, yeah that would be cool. I was worried about just the 2 tips lol even with the outlet pipes removed we still had to play around and shorten in some more to fit correctly due to its width! paulashy
love the look of the front end on this looks so mean top work
TomLum
Awesome work. Think im going to go with the GTR exhaust myself. Was it just a case of shortening the outlet pipes? If not then what work was involved? Thanks, Tom
Scott TMN
love the look of the front end on this looks so mean top work Thanks mate, my goal has always been to get it to look as mean as i can, i shall be tinting the headights also, so hopefully that will contribute to the look Awesome work. Think im going to go with the GTR exhaust myself. Was it just a case of shortening the outlet pipes? If not then what work was involved? Thanks, Tom cheers buddy, obviously you know now through the PM But for a few others that have asked me now, hopefully this outlines what work was needed for getting the GTR exhaust on 350z. Basically the first step was to remove the outlet pipes (with these still on it was wider than the zed!) so after cutting these off we offered it up in place of the OEM backbox. it was still a little to wide, and needed some more off to sit properly, so we then cut off the inlet pipes and cut a few inches off both sides between the pipe and backbox . Obviously a section needed to be cut out after it branches off into 2 leading up to the canisters to accommodate this. we then welded this back together. Next step was to remake the outlet pipes. luckily my mate has a mandrel pipe bender (allows pipe to be bent with affecting the inside diameter), so we was able to make some 90 degree bends for the tips. next issue was one of the inlet pipes bends over the outlet pipe. before this wasnt an issue as the original outlet pipe was flatter, but for my new round outlet pipe to fit we had to rework this section too to make the bend higher to go over the pipe. Now the box is not so wide it site in place nicely. The outlet pipes are now not obstructed and we now have 2 new 90 degree outlet ipes for the tips. Next was just a case of relocating the hangers. If you want the midpipe on also (i left mine off as didnt want it too loud) about the last third-half needs to be reworked also. hope this makes sense! hard to explain without pictures really, but I didnt get any really during the install, and cant seem to get anything decent under the car. haha hope this helps anyone interested

Scott TMN
Just a quick sound clip of the zorst, excuse the rattle and black screen, technical faults lol but hopefully you get the idea
Scott TMN
So wrapping of the zed straw yesterday. With the help of Jak and Steve (thanks guys) Started of by filling in the old number plate holes, and sanding smooth.. And then the wrap.. On camera the colour difference doesn't show as much, there isn't a grey deal to be fair, but that's what I wanted. A subtle change as I love the grey, but something a bit different, hence the Matt finish

Very nice job Scott_f91. Have to say though I love the sound of your exhaust from that exhaust clip. Almost sounds like a Lamborghini to me. Aha thanks man, haven't heard it likened to that before, but defiantly a welcome comment. Does give a really nice note , was driving last night normally, and even then I was thinking, I love this!
