bbb
Hi, my problem is this - sometimes when driving normally the light on the dash (ABS, VDC, Slip light, etc.) go on. Once I even had the car pulse braking the left front wheel when going ~60mph (I think it was the front left, started pulsing braking and pulling to the left). If I turn off the ignition and start back up, all is well for an undefined period of time, but the lights do come back every now and then. I got the error codes read and what came up was C1115 - ABS Sensor abnormal signal. How do I know which sensor is it? I think it could be the left one, but how can I be sure? So I read the maintenance manual here: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/350Z/coupe/2007/brc.pdf page 105 "Self diagnosis test" and I understand eveything up to #5 "Check continuity between terminals". I have a tester, but I don't understand what and how exactly to test and what values I am looking for. And where is the "VDC/TCS/ABS control unit connector B114"? Am I supposed to check between the connector that ends at the wheel and the sensor itself? Which pins? And am I looking for voltage, ohms or what? Any help will be appreciated, thanks. P.S. It's a '05 model, EU version, not import, tyre size back and front is the same.
ZMANALEX
Hi and welcome to the forum, why don't you put up an intro post to introduce your self. I am rushing out for some track fun at the moment so don't have the time to give you accurate informed answers to your questions. However the control unit is under the dash close to the steering column and will start with part code 47851 and is manufactured by Bosch. I have plenty in stock if required. ABS sensors are also in stock. Alex
Sly@Kaizer Motor
Check the signal ring itself for crack or damage (missing teeth) carefully (could be just a hairline crack). Also check wires visually for any damage as it's sounds like an intermittent signal lost.
bbb
Thanks for the welcome Well I don't have much of an introduction, the car's stock apart from an Invidia exhaust; got it a couple weeks ago, trying to sort out all the various issues. I'll know where to look for the control unit if I need to, but I'm hoping it could be only the wires, although I haven't checked them yet. If i need to get a new sensor, there's no difference if it's left or right side, is there? So I could just get one and try it on both sides...? And any advise on how to which one's malfunctioning would still be useful. On another topic... do you know how to check is the headlamp leveling motor is working? When I start the car up and turn on the headlights, they don't go up and down to adjust... and I think they need to.. or not? (I've seen cars with factory xenon do that, is it the same with the Z?) There's three wires on the motor: black, blue and red. I'm giving -GND to the black and +12V either to blue or red, but that's not working. And I tried 4 motors, none of them worked, so I guess I'm not doing it right, but I don't want to burn them by accident. Any advice on this one...?
