Stonesy
Just bought my first Z having been driving company car for seven years. Had a few claims on this (4 in 2 years) plus I have 5 pts on my license. Can anyone suggest a decent place to get insurance for my Z which gets delivered tomorrow?! Best I have had yet is £1200 p/a with a £3k excess (ouch!)
M13KYF
try the insurance companies on here http://www.350z-uk.c...ith-350z-ukcom/
marzman
That sounds a fair price to be honest, with a checquered history lke that.
Ekona
Do people really buy cars without checking insurance costs first?! Massive cojones, fair play! That quote sounds pretty fair, given your driving history.
Lexx
That's a pretty fair quote I think. 4 claims in 2 yrs is gonna ring alarm bells with any underwriter.
370Ad
The premium isnt bad but damm the excess is crazy!
rabbitstew
Agree with the others, thats a very good quote. When I got my zed, I was 40, had 21 years NCB having never made any claims or had any accidents on the car insurance. I live in the middle of nowhere in a cul-de-sac full of old pensioners where i think im the youngest person in the street. Cheapest I got was £900 !!!!! AliveBoy
There used to be some companies who offer insurance on your insurance excess. That way you can whack it up, bring the premium down and then the excess insurance takes your hit should the worst happen
Sarah 350z
I'm with admiral only 23 years old and my insurance is £750 fully comp! I'm delighted!!
The Chubby Ninja
Im admiral too. 24yr old with one non fault accident and modified exhaust and wheels and paying £615. Im dreading what im going to pay when i declare the supercharger lol
14N
As the others have said, that really doesn't sound like a bad quote considering your driving history. If it wasn't for the £3k excess, I think you'd find it would be a lot more. Hard to believe you're asking such a question after you've bought the car, but it could've been worse - at least you've found someone that'll cover you! Best of luck and to the forum. Seabee
22 fully comp 860 on admiral multicar with my partner strangely enough it was around £1200 without it so try that. I put the quotes in my partners name but im still the main driver for my car and i earn the ncb for my car tooo
Zulu Zed
I'm with Sky insurance which I think support this site. I would suggest giving them a call, so far they have always beaten my best quotes (usually Admiral) in terms of premium and cover. They've also been very helpful (over 2 years with 3 different cars) and seem pretty fair in terms of adding modifications and making changes to the policy unlike some insurers i've dealt with.

Astroboy
lol less talent behind the wheel and even lesser research skills. Only joking, I'm a newbie here too and don't want to start a rukus already Best of luck finding the solution to your expensive problem. What was your company var? A dodgem? x
skyinsurance
Wow. £3000 excess is completely and utterly ridiculous. Will you have that £3k available if you have a claim? Keep shopping. Richsouth
i have £250 excess with a bill of £700 pa! and im only 28 with 9 years ncb, thats with admiral
KyleR
Mines about the same annually, but only £500 excess living in Northern Ireland and 1 years NCB. Clearly its your claims making it silly excess. Is it too rude of me to ask what the claims were for?
smudgedon
4 claims in 2 years is gonna make you a high risk on any car, let alone a Zed
bronzee
Gee, even with all the earthquakes in Christchurch, that's effected all of our premiums over here, but still nothing like UK prices.
WhackyWill
That's expensive, premium sounds fair..excess is a joke...I'm with Admiral and £450 Comp for Inner London. Try Sky or Adrian Flux on here. Think Sky quoted me about the same. Must say you driving record not brilliant..
slaver
Wow, there are a few big numbers flying about here! Try elephant - you need to pay up front to get the best price, but mine was only 430 p/yr and I only have 3 yr no claims. No accidents or bans in the last 5 yrs though. The low insurance was one of the main reasons I finally bought a zed!
