MrMartinPGrant
Im going to get another diff , but does anyone know for fact if a Differential from a jap import 2006 manual, will fit my 2005 uk spec manual? just a straight swap. my diff exploded moths ago and ive been offered a diff, about time i got the car back on the road Edited February 21, 2013 by MrMartinPGrant
rtbiscuit
at a guess yes, but zmanalex would be your best bet for an accurate answer. there is a difference between left and right hand drive cars, and exhausts made for left hand cars don;t fit uk cars very well as the diff is in the way. but a jap car is right hand drive so it should theortically bolt straight on. ZMANALEX
It is a VLSD that you require for your UK car. Most jdm cars do not have a VLSD. Alex.

MrMartinPGrant
ZMANALAX, thanks, i just need to know if it will fit, as in a straight swap onto my Z, it doesn't matter if it's a VLSD, i think it's not because there are no cooling fins on the pumpkin, It's been offered to me but i'll only take it if it is just a simple matter of swapping it with the old diff. It is a complete diff, with the stub axles. Edited February 21, 2013 by MrMartinPGrant
ZMANALEX
In answer to your question, yes it will fit into the subframe and hook up to the drive shafts and the prop but you will have to use non VLSD fluid. I can't remember if you will have an issue with the ABS sensors or not. Why not do the job properly and fit a VLSD ? Alex.
MrMartinPGrant
alex, the cost, that's the simple answer lol i can get this including shipping to me for under £300.00, and that's a complete diff. would a jap diff not be better than a viscous type like my last one? alot of messing about with it fitting shims to get it to lock up for sideways action. ZMANALEX
A VLSD will only cost £200.00: A preowned 2 way will cost £400.00 and you will get 100% lock if you wish, which will give you plenty sidesway action. I can't advise on the best diff for your particular application as your thread is lacking in much needed information to give you an informed view. Alex. ZMANALEX
I have JDM, and VLSD diffs in stock and they are complete units. I also have preowned 1.5 and 2 way LSD units in stock which do not come with pumpkin or output shafts. Shipping is £50.00: There is no guarantee on these units if used for other than normal road use.
