Astroboy
Afternoon all, I was wondering if you could point me in the direction as to where the engine lift points are on a VQ35 and what was the best way to lift an engine via a hoist please. Thanks in advance, Astroboy
ZMANALEX
Front panel completely off and remove engine/gearbox and complete engine wiring loom as one unit. I have special brackets that I fabricated but a decent sling around the exhaust manifolds will work. Alex.
Sly@Kaizer Motor
As Alex said there is no factory lifting points and you need special brackets to do by the SM, but old school trick will work with a few sling.

Is it advisable to separate the engine from the gearbox or would you not lift it together all as one? Sly@Kaizer Motor
Sorry, SM mean Service Manual by Nissan otherwise I would separate the gearbox and the engine to make your life easier

IMHO lift it all as one unit as advised in my previous post: That is engine complete with loom and gearbox. I have tried all ways and this works best for me. Removing front bumper and complete front panel makes the job so much easier. Alex.
