wackosr
Sme time after going through a puddle at low speedthe Zed became very porely. The dash was lit up like Christmas tree! Headlights were off on the stalk, but on, wipers failed, fan was on, off, on, off.... Decided to disconnect the battery and take a look in the fuse box. It was soaked! So the following morning, I removed the fuses, relays etc and set about drying everything. Even had the hair dryer out for a period of time. I couldn't for the life of me see how the water had got in until I dropped relay below the fuse box out of reach. Ended up taking out the battery and the part it sits on to reteive the relay. This is when I discovered what looks to be a gromet with a one way valve in. It was rolling around loose and not sealing the hole below in to the engine bay. Guess it may be slighly perrised if it popped out that easily. Anyway, re assemebled everything once I was happy it was dry, and crossed my fingers. Fortunately she started first tim and there were no lights lit up. Think I may have been very lucky that nothing had been fried blown. Time to source a new grommet! cs2000
Phew, sounds very lucky, a short in the engine bay fuse box could be very nasty indeed!
wackosr
Thanks. Definitely counting my lucky stars. Can imagine the repair bill being fairly hefty!!
