snoged
hi as a new owner i have a question about the heated seats,is it just the back of the seats that are meant to heat up or the bottom as well ? as mine seem to heat up on the back then fade away and not seem to re-heat much at all.i have been driving a 2010 golf for a couple of months and i could have set the seats (they have a temp control) to whattever i wanted ,i now this was a newer/different car but not sure what to expect from the 350,and as its under warrenty i thought i'd ask the experts ! many thanks ! HEADPHONES
My bum gets a toasting as well as my back. The leather takes longer to heat up than fabric heated seats but does get warm on bum and back.

Waste of time! Same here. Also I can't tell any difference between the two settings. My jeep seats are really toasty though.

4RE Leather
They are designed to come on and warm the leather up to a certain temp then they cut off. When they get below a certaintemp they come back on again. If you are skinny they will stay on longer. If like me you are a fat barsturd then they will heat up quicker. Agreed but the ones on my dads car heat faster and better. Also dont keep going cold and hot. they stay at a good and nice temp.
4RE Leather
They certainly dont go as cold as the OP says theirs does. Mine are like 20 mins on and 5 off. It must be a temp sensor issue!
DoogyRev
Mine were great in my old car. Warmed my butt nicely

WhackyWill
Heated seats in my Zed are not very good...heated seats in my X5 are real "bum burners"..!!

Mine definitely dont do this. I am 15 mins off, 1 min on, and repeat. I've always thought it could be a faulty thermostat or something, but never been bothered to follow it up. Humpy
Well I have to say this is one problem I don't have in my Zed, mine are quick to warm up and keep in burning
4RE Leather
There are a lot of ways to damage the system for want of a better word. One has alreafy been mentioned and thats movement of the seat over time to include rough handling when taking the seat out of the car for instance. One big no no that I was informed about years back was the practice of kneeling on the seat to reach over the back or other side. Apart from making the leather sag it can damage the heting pad or element whatever its called. I am not an authority, just repeating what I was told by someone in the know! Arran
Mine seem to work fine. Could be worth checking out wires etc though just incase, where is the sensor located? And I take it the wires are underneath the leather?
4RE Leather
Yep They run of the main feed at the base just under the 1st layer then carry on up the the heat pad as I call it!
